I
could go on, but these players are people who never dive, never hurt
others, always play with a huge sense of pride whenever they put their
shirt on. These people embody everything good about football.

People
like these guys are what is wrong with football. They are groomed by
their stylists and hairdressers to look like model professionals. They
attend charity events (probably by force from their team) and they score
lots of goals. But they dive. They cheat. They don't mind fooling the
ref to get a goal. At the slightest contact, they fall immediately on
the floor to show the ref what assault the other player did to them. If
they're in a wall, they charge forward when a free-kick is taken, even
though it's illegal. They wave their hands at the ref. They might make a
stupid tackle, but they stand up and run away (without apologizing)
because they're afraid they'll get sent off. They shout at people when
things aren't going their way. Instead of playing for their local club,
or going to a mid-table team and taking them to the top, they like to
play for the 'big clubs'. They buy fancy cars, and hang out with the
celebs. They always demand higher wages. They get their picture taken
for some big company. They get given big shiny gold awards. And the
worst part is, they get called heroes and legends. These 'professional
athletes' are everything that is wrong with modern football. |
