i want to say the 2000 subway series but i was 10 and truthfully i don't remember much about it.

after that it's game 7 of the nlcs. i was pretty upset. i remember talking to my buddy steve after the game, telling him i couldn't believe the season was over. it felt kinda surreal, especially after endy's catch, which was honestly the first time in my life i had ever thought there was some sort of... ecumenical force operating in the mets' favor. it felt like we were destined to win but we didn't and that was really sad.

i softened the blow by telling myself that we had a solid, young team that would definitely be making deep playoff runs a habit for the next 3-5 years.

OOOOPPPPSSSSSSSS THAT DIDN'T GO SO WELL.

I know that feel bro. That was so fucking upsetting.

Such a hard life being a young Redskins fan. I'm only 19, so I have a wide array of tough losses to choose from. I'll list a few in no particular order:

    > Eagles/Redskins on MNF
DeSean Jackson trolls our entire defense on the first play for an 88 yard touchdown. When we countered with three straight runs and a punt, I was fucking ashamed.

    >Giants/Redskins MNF 2009
The swinging gate brought an embarrassing end to what was a miserable first half, and captivated the Jim Zorn era perfectly in one fucking play.

    >Saints/Redskins in '09 and Texans/Redskins in '10
These happened to be the exact same game. Redskins were underdogs going in, and had a HUGE lead in the second half. Then all of a sudden, they choked it all away.

    >Seattle in the playoffs in '05 and '07
Fuck. '07 we were leading in the 4th quarter when Landry got an interception. I was so excited but
    >Suisham

    >Speaking of Suisham, any game that he lost by sucking ass
I believe the Saints game previously mentioned falls in this department, but FUCK man. hit a <30 yard field goal plz.

I'm sure there are more, but these were the worst. However, none of these compare to Black Sunday: Super Bowl XVIII. Fuck you Marcus Allen.

It is nice to see that the Eagles can cause misery and sadness for fans other than their own for a change. But the worst losses were easily the NFC Championship Game against the Bucs, that was the Superbowl. The Eagles would've beaten the Raiders easily. The other one was after 3 straight years of losing in the NFC Championship game the Eagles finally make the Superbowl only to lose it by 3 points.

In a different sport, Jaroslav fucking Halak was a nightmare, but my worst playoff memories for the capitals are losing to the pittsburgh penguins again, and again, and again. It was two years ago. Halo 3 MLG pro circuit. Columbus. I drove 13 hours to see the dreamteam of lunchbox, ogre 1, ogre2 and finally the GOAT: Walshy. I had all my final boss gear on. Game 1, capture the flag on Narrows. Walshy handed it to STR8 rippin, they won the game in a long defensive bout 1-0. Game 2, MLG team slayer on MLG pit. Ogre2 put up 18, and Walshy got 14 kills and 9 assists. They handed it to them at 50-34. I figured there was no way. Game 3 was team oddball on MLG Gaurdian. After a full length 20 minute match, Rippin came out of top 212-201. Game 4 was KOTH on MLG construct. lunchbox grabbed a sniper and won the game for FB 200-112. 3-1 in a 7 game series. After a horse shit finish in CTF on Foundry, it was 3-2. I was still pumped, not nervous. Then on game 6, slayer on gaurdian, it was 48-45 FB, and then t^2, the best Rippin, dropped a triple kill to a double kill to win 50-45. Game 7. Oddball, Blackout. 30 seconds left, FB up 212-200. Huge fight, ogre2 jumps off map with ball, too bad t^2 was standing on the ball spawn luckily. He picked up the ball, and the crowd errupted. I was screaming HE HAS IT YOU NEED TO KILL HIM!!!! they took the lead at 216-212 and jumped off the map with the ball. It didn't spawn until 6 seconds left, Walshy picked it up and I screamed so loud, and then all of the sudden he got sniped in the head. I looked at the score, 216-214. We lost. I ripped off all my FB gear and bought some STR8 gear. No chance at losing in 2011, best team ever

Sox - 2003 ALCS. I would say the 86 World Series but I wasn't even a year old so I don't remember any of it.

Bruins - It's a tie between 3-4 and the 1988 Stanley Cup Finals where the Broons got absolutely raped by Edmonton. I was 3 and cried for hours even though I didn't fully understand what I was seeing.

    Patriots - 18-1 by a mile. Runner-up is 2007 AFC Championship Game.

Celtics - I started following the C's when I was 8 or so, just coming out of the Bird era, so I was used to sucking until the last few years. That being said, it's probably Game 7 of the 2010 NBA Finals. It's not even that the refs were biased, it's just that the way they were making calls just made me feel like we never even got a chance to come back in the 4th.

Kansas Football - 2007 game vs. Mizzou. 1 game away from 12-0 and an appearance in the Big 12 Championship Game and we blew it. We still ended up winning the Orange Bowl though, so it doesn't hurt as much anymore.

Kansas Basketball - Warwick's Block, above all the upsets we've had under Self. To this day I know that shot would've gone in.

Everytime ESPN or anyone shows superbowl highlights, I need to look away, because Tyree catching an impossible ball, and surviving a backbreaker only to catch the ball on the crown of his helmet just hurts to much.
That and Im still pissed at the runback in the XXXI. Desmond Howard breaking free because of holding by like 5 different packers.

for the cowboys the 07 loss to the giants is worse for me than the seattle loss. after the seattle game, i was at least excited that there was some serious potential for the future after years of quincy carter, et al. in 07, they had that outrageous amount of pro-bowl selections and cruised to the #1 seed and looked destined for great things before, whoops. jk. see you guys in mexico!

    2010 SEC Championship

Fuck you Cam Newton. Fuck you Auburn.

I've never gotten those people who can somehow cheer for multiple SEC teams. We were on the bottom or stuck in the middle of the road for so long we finally made it to the top just to get kicked back down.

On the car ride home from Atlanta that night saying "There's always next year" was the most painful thing I've ever had to say.

2002 NBA WC Finals. I literally cried after game 6, never mind the fact that I was 12.

If the Kings had ended up leaving for Anaheim after this season, I would actually say the season finale was one of the most painful losses I've been through. Sure, worthless game, but the symbolism wasn't lost on me. Huge underdogs, come back from a big deficit, pull ahead with victory in grasp, only see a sure-thing three ruin the day. You just knew it was going to happen. So close, yet always so far.
