  • We are still working on some of the outstanding CloudFlare issues. We are aware of an issue affecting IE users where all images are saved as BMP and are working on a fix. We will also be sending proper Last-Modified headers on HTML starting early next week (works on our end, waiting on a fix from CDN). And still tracking down the issues with posting/accessing sys.4chan.org.

I've gotten a few e-mails from Australian users about difficulty resolving 4chan DNS and accessing the site. If you are affected, please e-mail moot@4chan.org with more specifics like your ISP, and what the 4chan subdomains are resolving to (run "nslookup boards.4chan.org" and "nslookup www.4chan.org" from command prompt/terminal).

I'm ugly as fuck without make up.
    Daily routine is something like...

Foundation primer, foundation, eyeshadow primer, eyeliner, browbone highlight eyeshadow colour, eyeshadow contour colour, eyeshadow crease colour, mascara, pluck eyebrows, brow pencil, brow gel, and some sort of lip gloss.

I put on a lot of make up but stick with mostly browns / blacks / beiges to just accentuate shadows and so on.

I like putting on make up though. It makes me feel like I'm painting a prettier, better self on top of the old me and it lets me feel like I have control.

    Exactly.
It really sucks that all people will be inherently shallow to some degree, but there's studies out there that show women are generally treated better / more nicely in addition to being taken more seriously, if they have their make up done in a professional manner.

Besides tweezing my brows and doing my hair, I wear very little make-up. Usually just cover-up on a few problem spots, and some eyeliner and mascara if I'm feeling up for it. Eyeshadow even more rarely.

Honestly, you probably wouldn't even notice a difference in my 'before' and 'after'. I don't really look much different.
But it gives me a big confidence boost. I feel sexier, I feel like I'm glowing a little more brightly.

That's why I do it. It's like adding an extra inch to my imaginary penis. Even if no one knows about it, I feel more confident and more able to take on the world, and that's worth it.

you can get foundation that actually heals skin, my skin has improved drastically in the year or so i started wearing foundation every day, again it's about taking the time to research and pick out skin products that are healthy and improve your appearance below the skin as well as above
also i lost 100 pounds in the last year or so and the exercise and healthier diet improved my complexion on my body as a whole, so i definitely agree with that bit

One time I didn't wear makeup to school. On my second class of the day, a girl looked over from two rows of seats over and said, "Woah, anon, are you not wearing makeup?"
    "No.."
"Damn, I didn't even know you wore makeup. I just thought you were pretty."
    "Okay.."
"You should put some on. I mean, you're the kind of person who really does need it."

Now I refuse to go to school without it. I wish I didn't have to wear it, but I do.
If I'm in a hurry, I'll just wear concealer, brown eyeliner, and powder. Maybe mascara, bronzer+blush.

no! do not be afraid of vibrant colors especially with those hazel eyes, but know how to correctly layer and apply them, you should use shades of purple/plum, bronzes/dull metallic, and shades of brown
there's a pretty foolproof method, but do not be afraid of applying up to your brow line.
what i do, is apply 3 colors, a medium, a darker (a different shade of the same general color), and a white with a base (some whites have blue bases, some purple, etc, you can usually tell by looking at the product in the light)
you'll apply the medium shade over your entire lid, and about a quarter inch or a little more depending on your facial structure and what makes you feel best, extending slightly past the outer corner of your eye, but not overly noticeably past
take your darkest shade and brush it from the inner crease of your eye, the whole way along the crease and blend it slightly with the lighter shade along the top of your shadow line
and take your white/beige and blend it with both colors along your shadow line, and if you're comfortable brush it all the way up to your brow line, meeting at the outer edge of your eyebrow, but avoid brushing along the entire brow
this makes your eyes look much larger and it is not as noticeable as you think it sounds
then apply your eyeliner, black is usually suitable, along your lash line of your upper lid and your bottom lid if you are comfortable
then mascara on both your upper and lower lashes
this is basically a good way for beginners to get comfortable with eye makeup while still looking classy and not overly done up, but it can be adjusted with brighter colors for evenings out (i.e for your eye color brighter purples/plums)
i didn't re read this so i hope it makes sense lol feel free to ask any questions if it didn't

I do wear make up when i'm going out with friends or am dressed up more that day. i don't really wear it more than about 3 times a week though. The reason i do is because i feel like girls who dont, get looked down upon or are considered plain compared to all the girls she is friends with. I like the confidence in knowing that i look good that day. Call me selfish, but i wear it to look good and feel good.

for the most part i only wear eye liner and mascara if it's a more casual day. When i'm really dressed a bit nicer and want to complete my look i usually put on face powder, eye liner, mascara, and sometimes blush.

and say what you please boys, but when you look at a girl with no makeup on and also see a girl with just a little bit of makeup, you're gonna think the girl who is a little more dolled up looks better than the one who looks very plain/bland with none.

Then perhaps that means that they'd rather the overly-sexualised nature of 'sexy'.
Acquiring attention through sex appeal effectively makes someone demanding and rather petty. It works, but only to fill a superficial desire.

sexy comes with an attitude far too often
girls who try to be sexy are often stuck up and love themselves too much, think they deserve too much.

Actually, they do if they want a relationship. In fact, a lot of guys prefer cute chicks over the "sexy" chicks because cute chicks are almost always faithful.

I would say cute can describe both an attitude or a look. In my opinion (and probably the other guy who responded) "cute" is something that can be said positively about a girl's appearance who I'm considering seriously dating. I know lots of girls consider it a backhanded compliment or outright insult though, haha. But "cuteness" in appearance implies having a look of empathy, kindness, or amiability. A girl that is "cute" looking could more easily put a guy at ease and seem more relatable to him. It doesn't mean "ugly, but I don't want to say so," and I think many (most?) guys would agree.

Cute as an attitude is basically the behavioral equivalent of this. You might be cute looking but serious or cold, for example, or you might have a harsh/cold beauty and be a very warm and relatable person.

I definitely like girls that I would describe as "cute" in either capacity. They're not unattractive, it's just another way of describing the kind of appeal they have. Most guys would say "cute" is an appearance, I believe.

    -Clay mask once a week.
    -Blackhead scrub 2x a week
    -Cetaphil erry' morning.

I am 23 and the "cute" look edges out the "sexy" look for me, I guess, although it's more complex than that as I don't make such dichotomous decisions, haha. I'm not really looking for any one phenotype of girl besides being subconsciously attracted to outliers - short, tall, lean, chubby, confident/forward, and particularly kind and caring are types that automatically stand out to me in amounts greater than whether they're "cute" or "sexy".

I never understood why so many good looking women wore makeup ... usually they look better without.

And hell its not like im ugly or have boy problems either. If anything guys feel more comfortable around me.

Stick with a tinted moisturizer when your acne flares up and try to NOT exercise while you're wearing it. Wash it off as soon as you're back in your house and done caring about how your face looks for the day.

In my experience tinted moisturizer is usually what's got the least amount of crap in it that's able to clog your pores.
Though in an ideal situation, you'd wear nothing while your acne flares up. But I think you already know that hahah :)
