ask a college professor anything. there will be a quiz at the end.
how many girls/guys offer head for better grade?
nobody out and out offered head, i had one very upset girl (i'm a guy) say she would do "anything." since this is real life, I didn't do anything about it. Fucked up thing was she passed, just was freaking out because her grade wasn't high enough
what do you teach
I'll be sort of general about it and say Composition. Writing, basically.
Are you satisfied with your salary
NO. I am not a tenure track professor, which means I don't get paid horribly well and can be fired (or rather, not re-hired) whenever
where do babies come from?
What part of America do you teach in? Also, state or private?
what'd you major in in college?and what'd you do til you got your current job
>>621027your mother>>621031I'm on the East Coast, and I teach at state schools.
not so much a question ut those who cant do teach. everyone knows that.
>>621061I majored in Creative Writing. Do not make my mistake. Learn something useful. Before that I did everything, record store slob, delivery guy, magazine writer, bartender, you name it.
enjoy your $40k a year job LOL
>>621085but there are also plenty of people who can't teach. i always knew that whatever i was doing, I would like to teach it as well. I had great teachers in school and it made all the difference. I'm hoping to get a third degree in history and teach that as well.
>>621146enjoy being a neckbeard
I'm a Britfag soon-to-be undergraduate student (King's College London). In my second year I'll be able to study at one of the following colleges:UCLABerkeleyChicago University of North Carolina at White ChapelUniversity of VirginiaUniversity of ConnecticutCan you rank them in order of not-shit to shit? There's no additional tuition fees (I'll be paying King's fees only), so that's not an issue.
>>621187awww did i hit a sore spot? i bet i make more in a year than you make in 3
>>621187>>621187i fucking love every minute of it. IM STORKING IT RIGHT NOW YOU MAD UMMMMMM EMMMMM O YEAH ITS SO FUCKING NICE FUCK YOU AND YOUR 3RD DEGREE COCKSUCKING FAGGOT NECKEBAD FOR LIFE BITCH
Why do I get a C for the same paper that you gave someone a A to?
Is it at all frowned upon for a random student to, say, accidentally trip and rub their face into dog shit the little fuck head who has to question everything said in class to seem smart?
>>621210Eh, I went to UC Berkeley. I'd say they're all pretty top tier academics wise. I'd focus more on location, fit/feel, cost, etc.
>>621210tell me what you are planning on studying and i'll do my best.>>621212whatever. there are tons of people who make more than me. i like what I do. i can afford what i want. i have a gf and dog. no complaints.
>>621272(not OP btw, just my opinion mang)Also, the UCs funding is all fucked up, so that's something you have to deal with at a UC. :/
>>621238Well, it depends on the subject. I'm teaching comp so it's not only about what's being said but how it's said. Basically every teacher judges you by how well you achieve class objectives. it is possible for two students to achieve an assignment's objective and get different grades.>>621247Annoying student is annoying. I usually try talking to them about classroom dynamics, but if you want to fuck them up outside of class, be my guest.
Have you ever flunked/gave bad grades to students you personally disliked? Any vendettas?captcha: whealmes RUTGERS
>>621272There's really no additional cost involved. The only thing I'll really have to pay for are my travel expenses, and that's no issue at all.>>621281I'll be studying philosophy, but that's not really the important part. The thing that really matters is general academic prestige. It's the name that matters right now.
do you teach anywhere on the mid east coast?
>>621389Don't study philosophy unless you want to become a philosophy professorDon't become a philosophy professorYou'll thank me in the future
It is common at your school for students and professors to sleep together? I graduated from a school last year, and I always wanted to sleep with a professor, just for the hell of it.
>>621525I'm capable of original work in the field. I was published in a respectable philosophical journal at the age of nineteen. It's all I want to--and what I will--do.
I want to be an english college prof. how hard is it to become one? I'm working on a degree in english atm
>>621727It's easy as hell
>>621777nice trips. did you have to get above a bachelors to teach your subject? I'm doing creative writing too
You're failing English? We speak English
>>621109lol i asked the question for this and i'm thinking about majoring in creative writing.did you have to take additional courses for teaching?
is there really a liberal bias?
