/sci/, I came from the internets to finally debunk the multiverse theory.

According to this theory, you just died 1 minute ago by forgetting how to breathe.

    Seriously?
How can someone forget how to breathe?
That is just nuts. There's no way on the universe that will make you forget how to breathe.

Yeah, and in another every atom in the universe swapped with one 20 lightyears away.

I've had trouble with this. I have no formal knowledge of the matter, but I figure "every possibility" means "every sensible possibility." What that means exactly, I can't really explain.

haha which means by implication that in the show "Sliders," those poor fuckers should have never got home. They simply "slid/slided" into another dimension/world...but there are essentially infinite worlds apart from "their" world. Show had to come to an end eventually though I guess.

There is some evidence for a Multiverse.

The "Many Worlds Interpretation" of Quantum Mechanics, though, is pseudoscience. It started as a simple thought experiment, a game of "what if...?". From there, the media got ahold of it, and ignorant students misunderstood it and took it as truth, which resulted in "scientists" devoting years of "research" into it. Ultimately, though, it is nothing more than baseless conjecture, much of which has actually been falsified several times over.

So yes, there may indeed be other Universes, but the Multiverse bears no resemblance to anything you idiots have heard about.

IT MEANS THAT EVERY SINGLE MOTHERFUCKING THING THAT YOU COULD POSSIBLY CHANGE IN THE MOST INFINITELY SMALLEST WAY POSSIBLE HAS CHANGED IN ANOTHER UNIVERSE.

    HOLY SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT

ITS LIKE- IN ANOTHER UNIVERSE, YOU ARE SITTING EXACTLY 2CM TO THE RIGHT ON YOUR CHAIR THAN YOU ARE NOW- AND IN ANOTHER, YOU HAVE 2 LESS HAIR STRANDS.

    You can forget to breathe.

I don't remember the name of the disease, but there are people who stop breathing while sleeping. Their body wakes them up before they die, they realize that there is a problem, and then they of course tell themselves to breathe.

Point is, you only know you are supposed to breathe because of a biological urge. Some people don't feel pain. The only reason it is unlikely that you don't find anyone who doesn't always remember to breathe is because we all have that biological urge. Maybe there is a disease where it's possible to live into your 30s and then die from this disease, it's just so uncommon you never run into it.

Multiply this by infinite universes and there is a 100% chance it will happen.

It isn't impossible at all and you're retarded if you think it is.
