Why are people afraid of death?Wouldn't it be more frightening to think forever when eventually, it will all be predictable and boring?Maybe our bodies have expiratory dates because, among other reasons involved with chemical changes and entropy(Like I would troll /sci/ without logic), some compelling force in our genes was exposed and aware of the dangers of immortality. I know this isn't the case but I like the thought nonetheless.
I sure hope I don't get upset anons.
Maybe due to a large reaction of chemicals, our world is filled with life that HAD to exist for the sole purpose of thermodynamic equilibrium in co-correspondence to said reaction.
Guys? Hello? I don't like talking to myself it gets awkward after a while....
>Wouldn't it be more frightening to think forever when eventually, it will all be predictable and boring?[citation needed]
>>512638oh yes it would get boaring eventually, but its not that bad, people LOVE repetition, death is far worse, not only can you not do new things, you cant even repeat yourself
>>512688What do you mean? I'm just assuming that If the universe is infinitely expanding it will reach a cold state of boredom while nothing unpredictable, on a large and quantum level, will occur. Inb4 physics fail.
Our bodies have expiry dates so we can fuck and then just die after raising offspring, and stop eating their food.
I don't fear death.I don't want to die now, because I haven't acheived anything aside from academia. If I was told I had 1 hour to live I'd just be disapointed, not scared. Why should I fear an end of conciousness? It would be akin to being anaethatized, but forever. Anaesthesia is not scary, it is just litteral nothingness. A gap.
This is /sci/. If we ever achieve immortality (which we will) we'll spend the rest of our infinate lives researching things and masturbating.
Man, fuck Ergo Proxy. I just wanted to watch a normal post apocalyptic anime without some abstract surrealism bullshit involving people with angel wings.

>wouldn't it be more frightening to think forever when eventually, it will all be predictable and boring?I guess it could be frighting the first million years but then I would get used to the prospect. Transhumanism, yeah.

>>512762NO NO ALL ERGO PROXY DID WAS TALK ABOUT HIS SOUL OVER AND OVER AND THEN HE FLEW OFF WITH THAT ANGEL CHICK JESUS I HATE THE JAPANESE
>Why are people afraid of death? You seem to be implying that death has something to offer than can be interpreted as a good or a bad thing.Death only has something to offer those that view life as a burden and long for nothingness.Personally, I love life and can't imagine ever wanting to leave this wonderful existence. I think it's my curiosity that keeps me always wanting more and I don't believe that I'll ever be satiated. And when I've learned and experienced everything there is to experience in this universe, I'll be curious to find what's waiting for me in another universe; and, no, I don't mean one that can only be accessed by dying.
