  • Since I've been on a Q&A kick in /a/ and /r9k/ recently, I've decided to set up a formspring account for publicly answering 4chan related questions. You'll find it linked in the navbar as "?", and located here: formspring.me/4chan. Also, if you use Twitter, please follow @4chan. As always, I can be contacted via e-mail at moot@4chan.org (Despite the common misconception, I check it frequently and read every message I receive. Nobody seems to e-mail me about anything other than being banned though ;_;)
EDIT: Site went down due to a hardware issue. Should be fixed now.

    Sup /sci/entists.

82 days ago i started a project with /x/, its basicly a jar full of rotting food, chemicals, bodily fluids and other materials, decomposing into one big slime mold.

I have been away for 4chan and when i came back i saw that this board was there, so i thought i'd make a thread. I cant post the link so you'll have to google "Hell goo"

Picture unrelated though immortal jellyfish are awsome.

Dont worry, i have multiple bottles of bleach ready for deployment. Ive killed a pot like this before because it killed random wild life around it when i put it outside.

The thing is im supposed to have a major amount of diseases right now but ive grown a large resistance thanks to creating the previous pot.
According to my doctor that is, i prefer to avoid most risks anyway.

Though, a while ago my entire household had food poisoning (from overtime meat) and i was the only one without food poisoning so..

The problem is, it's full of toxins right now and deploying spores through your whole house. Even spores contain mykotoxins, so don't get the impression that you're save with just having a bucket full of mold around our house.

And I don't think that you are 'resistant'. Don't rely on that kind of "self-vaccination", there is also a high possibility that you'll catch a serious infection that could disable, if not kill you.

You can't give it bleach immunity, but it's possible that some of those living beings in the jar are already bleach resistant, but they don't know about it.

You can buy a frozen one from any supermarket, just let it thaw and watch as the flesh is first stripped away, and then the bones. Also, seal it or put a wire mesh over the top so flies can't get in it and lay eggs, and that prevents the whole maggots issue.

I don't really think psychoactive substances have much of an effect on one-celled and other primitive organisms...
Oh and why use bleach to destroy it? There's about 4g of active NaOCl in common bleach per 100ml, used it for an oxidation of 4-methyl-2-heptanone once and it was really slow, so I don't think you'd destroy much with it. Why not use 18M sulfuric acid, or concentrated sodium hydroxide, they're both easy to get too.
    Or just use thermite :P

Or if not, it may or will.

OP, it would be an interesting to know whether Shoggoth is more acidic or more basic. Get some litmus paper and figure it out!

Once you do, you can add figs/dried apricots (if it's too acidic) and lemons/oranges (if it's too basic).

    1.) Get Egg.
2.) Submerge egg in vinegar for a few days.
3.) Carefully wash the shell off the egg.
4.) Throw soft, semi-transparent embryo into Shoggoth.
5.) Watch the feast through the egg.
    6.)??????????????????
    7.) PROFIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Puss is mostly white blood cells. They'd devour whatever they touched before dying from lack of nutrients.
