I'm convinced I will never get a job in my entire life. My degree isn't worth the paper it's printed on (it's physics btw, a hard science) and I feel like I wasted my entire life working towards something I now know I will never be able to do anything with. I've been rejected from radio shack, I've been rejected from offices, I can't even get a job at fucking McDonalds. imagine that, a physics major and I can't get a job at McDicks.

There is no hope. None at all. College is fucking stupid and now because of it I will be in debt for the rest of my life. I'm going to become homeless and die alone in a box on the street.

Let me guess, you've got a bachelors?
    >> Anonymous 09/14/11(Wed)15:48 No.3737943
You should go back to school for your masters, a BS in physics is worth shit.

    >>3737943
I refuse to go into more debt unless it means that I will 100% sure get a job right out, which is unlikely.

I'm just so depressed all the time because I will never pay off my loans, this I can guarantee. Any money I will earn won't even technically be mine. I also have no idea how I'm going to afford a house. I'll probably just live with my parents forever and hope that they drop good loot.

It's your fault for not doing undergraduate research, getting internsips, and pursuing a masters degree.

You should have done more research on your subject.

Don't worry, you can always teach high school.

Why'd you go to such an expensive school lol
    >> Anonymous 09/14/11(Wed)15:56 No.3737968
Become an english teacher in Korea.

They require a degree, but it doesn't matter what at all, just that you went to college. They just want english speakers who can follow the strict curricula they provide. Starts at about ~$2400 USD/month, depending on the school.

Why not? Jump ship and start a life somewhere new-- it'll be fun.

sorry to interrupt in your thread op, and sorry I have nothing to say but good luck.

so a question, I'll have a BS in physics and immediatley after that I'll be working with the army for 6 years, how much market value do you think I'll have after those 6 years?
    >> Anonymous 09/14/11(Wed)15:59 No.3737975

Depends on what you're gonna do in the army, duh. If you end up being a radarman like some physicists do, you might end up with quite a bit of knowledge of electronics and, by proxy, be albe to maintain instruments. Otherwise, you're worthless.

If I have a lot of spare cash, but don't have particularly huge aspirations, could I get a masters, and then just apply for jobs that are usually held by people with bachelors? Or would that be unbeneficial because im overqualified?

    >that feel when you're an eurofag and can afford education because it's free
If I want I could drop CS tomorrow, go to the med school and become a neurosurgeon.
No bullshit about being in the football team or having money, just study and be good at it.

Anyone who wants to go to college in the US can, within reason. Scholarships and grants are pretty damn easy to get. Hell, they specifically make ones for idiots and your GPA has to be below a certain number.

That being said, your system still makes a lot more sense.

How's your subpar education? You think your "free" education would compare to one paid for in a another first world country? When paying for education for that many people, corners will be cut and your education will suffer for it.

Also enjoy your stagnation and stifled innovation caused by a lack of competition.

Then will never advance in anything. There is not 100% guarantee you will get a job/have job security. You have to take a chance, otherwise no pay off.

Amerifag here, you are fucking retarded or trolling.

I've lived in Japan and the US. One has universal healthcare. America does not. Guess which one has better hospitals.

College in America is a fucking money racket. You pay for a degree.

I watched MIT videos and we study the same stuff.
Just because your teachers are super stars and are overpaid doesn't mean anything.
Also I don't care if the teachers are good or not, I study by myself with books.
I'm just in it for the paper.
