At
my high school, the third smartest kid in the class got into Harvard
while the first and second didn't. I knew the kid so I asked him what
was up, he said it was probably because he was half Puerto Rican.
This
kid was whiter than me, and I am mostly Northern European descent. He
is also rich as fuck, as a good portion of the people are at that high
school. Good for him for exploiting the system but fuck whoever thought
it was a good idea in the first place.
Also, there should be no
affirmative action at the graduate/medical school level. Any
disadvantage you had is settled out by then. Every person should have an
identification number with no personal information on there besides the
school you attended previous, your grades, and your test scores. Now
you can't say a racist admission guy screwed you over. |
