I believe it. It makes logical sense to me that more knowledge gives you a broader view of the world and less ridiculous fear of things like QUEERS AND EVIL-UTION.

I've also heard that along with increased education there's an increase in belief in wacky things (ghosts, cryptids, homeopathy). Never seen any proof of this but I'd also buy it since if you know about the world you know how strange it is and are probably open to things outside your normal comfort zone.

I double-majored in biochem and lit, now a med student. And yes, there was a significant bias in a number of the lit classes, mostly New Leftist bullshit. However, having the ability to reason and think critically, most of it did nothing to affect my political viewpoints. I would identify as neither conservative nor liberal.

While I do agree with their supposed attempts to create a more traditionally liberal collegiate experience, I think they're not actually committed to that goal.

I would like to see the actual study, but I'm willing to bet that they didn't have a control group at all, in a number of ways. Their definition of "liberal" is probably not one that would be universally agreed upon.

He was a Marxist economist and I was cool with that, even though I don't agree with him. The generation that needs the money the most is the generation that fought to preserve freedom and democracy against the Nazis in WW2. You might known them as the Greatest Generation. They say going to college does not raise your level of civic knowledge, and then support this by giving the percentages of graduates that didn't know the answers to basic questions. But those statistics are meaningless unless you compare them to the number of non-graduates that were able to answer the questions. Non-graduates would probably do much worse.
