Hey guys! I've been hearing a lot of you complaining about how America uses the "United States customary units" (or "English Imperial" units) of measurement instead of the good ol' International System of Units, or in other words, the metric system. First off I'd like to thank everyone for the attention and reinforcing our status at the top of the dogpile--it's good to know that no matter how much you complain about America, we're still the people you like to talk about the most!

Now I'd like to inform you of a neat little fact most of you seem to be forgetting or unaware of:
    >Since 1875, in fact, the United States has subscribed to the International System of Weights and Measures, the official version of the metric system.

So you see, America really is a metric country, along with every other developed nation in the world, despite what the self-contradicting Wikipedia (which I might add, is not a valid source of information and is only good for the most superficial knowledge of a topic) would lead you to believe. I suppose it's just that we Americans are still comfortable with our good ol' feet & inches, so better suck it up and bear it, because, haha! We're way more important than you! Remember? You said that... or thought it!
But don't you worry, America is working towards phasing out the "English Imperial" units, as is the United Kingdom in fact. So don't you let your tummy tum-tums get a bellyache over any of this!

Some samples of further reading and sources for your enjoyment. I recommend Google for more. And remember: Wikipedia is for kids!

We're inching our way into the metric system.

No matter what happens, inches will remain the international standard measuring unit of penis size.

It's true, everything in the US is labeled as both metric and imperial units.

98% of our population doesn't understand metric units like grams, so they just label both of them.

But they do understand liters "2 liters is a pop bottle hurr durr"

Not anytime soon,OP. I rather have the US use both forms of measurement. Let industry, leisure, and people decide which one to depending on the circumstances.
