i know /sci/ doesn't think much of the social sciences, but a political scientist and game theorist at the university of rochester, william riker, is known at least partially for his work on the "size principle." it states that coalitions trend toward "minimally winning" size. there's some specific game theoretical preconditions, but basically it says that people clamoring for a world government and such are barking up the wrong tree.

I don't think any major boarders are going to change. Maybe some of the Shithole dictatorships stop being shithole dictatorships (or become different shithole dictatorships), but even if countries join together, it'll be EU style. Say Canada and America Stop dating and finally get Married, they'll still be Canada and America, with their own rules and shit, but united under a North American Union. (Probably not called that).
