I enjoy work and feel bad when I don't do things/be productive.

I blame my parents.

I don't care about society or whatever, I just want to be productive and doing shit. Science is enjoyable to me, so I'm a scientist. The money allows me to go on dates and travel and live in a nice apartment, but I hardly think about all that, I could have a girlfriend with or without them.

Being a NEET would irritate me all day and I'd feel like I'm wasting my time. You're given a fucking life, might as well use it. And yeah you might as well make money out of the things you enjoy since it makes life easier, and if you can't then clearly you're shit at what you do.

We also live on a ranch property so there's a ton of things to do.

If I understand correct: OP is suggesting that the purpose of a job (to gain money) is largely unnecessary when you don't need most of the things you buy anyway. This is true to an extent, but you still need money for food unless you're skilled at dumpster diving or other types of acquisition, in which case you're mostly trading money for inconvenience.

OPs whole argument seems flawed. He is stating that NEETdom is better than being a "wage slave", even though being a NEET is something which requires wage slaves to support it (parents - and to a larger extent - society.) You can't criticize society whilst still living parasitically off it and those who support it. If everyone became a NEET nobody would be able to be a NEET.

In the end, being a NEET isn't a luxury everyone can afford.

40 hours a week isn't even 2 days of your time. Plus it isn't even that bad if you enjoy what you're doing.

Happiness is tied to a feeling of achievement. I do not feel like I can achieve my goals by remaining poor, and as such I would not be happy remaining NEET.

In addition, I am a naturally lazy person, and I use the carrot of money and the stick of disapproval to motivate myself to learn new things.

But I need money to pay my rent, hang out with friends, buy instruments to learn to play them, play video games, go on vacations, take classes I want, food I want.

Sadly I cant do that by sitting on my ass all day or I would! I cant apply for autismbux.

I personally have no want to live with my family and depend on another person forever.

And the only real way to support my independence is to work.

I like work. I get depressed when I have too much time on my hands.

I think when I'm out of college I'll get a job that pays fairly well and volunteer to ensure that I'm never unoccupied. I'll never have to think about what I want to do again.

When I actually did stuff that was productive outside of the house I would spend damn near every second waiting to go back home. I don't like doing things and I'm not interested in very much of anything. Except movies and going online. The NEET lifestyle provides enough free time for me to spend as much time doing these things as I want without having to worry about meeting deadlines or other responsibilities. I spent two years after high school as a neet and I don't get the boredom thing. I was rarely bored. I spent a lot of time studying languages (this would help me land my current job years later). If you're a boring shithead having a job won't make you not. You'd just do the same shit you do as a neet except 40 hours of the week you'd spend working.

I'm still on the fence about chickens, though. They look cute enough and some sites say they're decent pets if you only get a couple, but /k/ told me they're horrible shitbeasts that take all the time in the world to keep from fucking up your house. IDK.

The aquaponics shit at least wouldn't be much work. Once you've planted, gardening is a snap and an aquaponics system automates the few things you have to do (watering and fertilizing). Then there's just harvesting, which if you only have a few square feet of plants is nothing. Same goes for fish -- you don't have to do much other than feed them, and you can just buy feed at the pet store in a big bag for 5.99 a kilo or whatever. The enterprising person can even look into breeding.

And as a bonus, you can have a kawaii little not-koi pond next to a neat little garden to impress the neighbors! Erect a few solar panels as a project one summer, and get a few bucks off your electricity bill! It's in your interest to do this stuff
