No. Asperger's
diagnosis can range from borderline autistic(as in you cannot fucking
function in society, period) to you cannot into social relations like
other people. I have mild aspergers so I'm much better off than most
other people with the disorder, and I got this diagnosis from seeing a
therapist for three years that I still go to.
It doesn't really
matter how you want to judge people who are socially inept, they need
help. Its not that they are getting that diagnosis to say "welp, I'm
aspie stand on eggshells around me!"
FUCK NO
It's that
people like me want to live and work to what we actually want and people
like me can't even read emotionally whats going on in a conversation.
So something that seems easy as fuck for you is something that I spend a
whole day thinking about, and thats just the aspergers, not the stuff
that developed from my personal history of living with it and being
unable to deal with it.
People that ignore the problem like you
clearly haven't met people with mental problems. They are real, and
people need help to work through them.
However, I just want to
say additionally, that this doesn't mean that you have to give aspies or
whatever special treatment or assume that they just need to feel true
despair to make something of themselves. These are the kind of people,
like me, who would have ended up living at their parents house on
disability for the rest of their lives.
As for pretenders who
just have mental issues, they might not have asperger's but they could
probably benefit from therapy anyways. So, when I see threads like this
and people arguing about aspies I believe that you probably have
problems in your life that you blame yourself for that you haven't done
anything about and think everyone else should be the same. |
