I was going to do Comp Sci as my major back in the day, but was STRONLY advised against by a couple guys I knew who already worked as system admins/network specialists. At least back several years ago SO many grads had gotten comp sci degrees that in most markets the job market was flooded at the same time a lot of the grunt work was being farmed out to India.

Maybe the market's gotten better somehow but even before the economy took a dive into the shitter Comp Sci seemed like a shark feeding frenzy for open positions that actually paid anything.

So it's not monotonous at least usually, actually I can daydream when we don't get extra samples in so my day goes by pretty quick.
