04/08/10(Thu)01:54:39 No.8278433>>8277762 It's the
truth, buddy. I got here a little after the hubub of the Anonymous
videos on youtube, just a little while before the Scientology raids. I
didn't post for quite some time, wary of having an angry "LURK MOAR"
directed at me, but the mere fact that I saw it so much was evidence I
was just a drop in a larger wave of influx. Then the raids, and seeing
4chan related posters all over my campus, as well as a fucking article
in my school paper devoted solely to 4chan. I'd say the rate of influx
today is triple what it was when I first got on 4chan, and my guess of
the median age here would be 16. My estimate for the median age when I
first arrived would be 18, which makes for a much bigger difference than
it might seem. I really miss all the "LURK MOAR" posts that got thrown
around. People were genuinely angry at the destruction of their culture,
and I think a lot of those people just up and left, unable to take what
was happening to their home. I think the problem was that once the
influx became too great, the "LURK MOAR"s got drowned out by cancer
posts made by the 16 year-olds who were flamed out of better threads. I
got here late, but when I did I kept my mouth shut until I'd learned the
culture. When immigrants come in great numbers, though, they don't have
to, as they can just subsist on the culture they bring with them,
eventually perverting the larger culture around them. |
