a bit of
background story
my life was easy. plain and simple. good money
from parents. good looking. not socially awkward. and i was also pretty
nice.
so i get to his house, and it's a small house. pretty
small compared to mine. so i'll admit, i was a little snotty in my mind
about it. so we're just working on the project and then we take a break
and he shows me his room. i walk in. i see an n64 hooked up to a plasma
tv with Zelda:OoT in the console.
this is 2006 so it was old. as a
kid, i had a cousin who i would play vidya with, and he showed me all
of the games. but he died in 03 from a car accident, so that game (his
and my favorite) held a special place in my heart. me and parker talk
about the game for a bit. then about games in general, then life in
general, and i find something odd. this random person, whom i'd have
never met unless we were paired for a project, is basically my entire
childhood in someone else. he became my best friend for four years of
high school. in middle school, he had no (literally) no friends. he then
became friends with my friends, and now hes just as popular as me. we
beat every single Zelda game (literally again) together, in
chronological order. he also taught me how not to be a dickhole. he is
the one thing i am most thankful for. thank you so much parker. thank
you so much. |
