I've been in the US Navy for slightly over a year and I've been E4 for about 7 months.
I finally got the first portion of my sign up bonus and even after spending a shit ton of money and getting an apartment set up in NY, I've got over $4k in the bank.
I've lost my virginity for a while and sex, while no longer as important to me as it once was, is not hard to obtain.
I'm in decent shape, and have an alright face.
My 21st birthday is a month and a half away.
Once I finish my training in November, it'll be worth approximately 75 college credits and I can use some of those credits in pursuing a bachelors before I leave the navy, and I can use the GI bill afterwards to go for a masters. If I extend my contract, I could possibly get a masters while still in the navy and use the GI bill for a PhD instead.
Alternatively, I can get a job in the civilian sector for close to $100k/yr.
I can read anything in French, some stuff in German and Spanish.
