I'm
sure I can imagine a situation where a late term abortion was a medical
necessity, but it's funny you should say that, because all of the
stories I've read about women who had late abortions (places that
provide them seem to always have websites with story sections) were
women who aborted their babies because they found out they had downs
syndrome or some other similarly disabling (i.e. not a vegetable baby)
problem. In my mind, that's fucking immoral.
A late term abortion
is not ridding yourself of something leeching off your body or killing
you; it's the procurement of death. If the baby's viable and there's
risk to the mother, that's what cesarean sections are for.
So
yeah, I would say they're immoral. Not unequivocally, but most of the
time, yes. |
