We had a pretty good college tips thread. But Im curious in what everyones major is and what type of job they want.

Psychology fag here planning to go into law school and then eventually go into either criminal or family law. And yes I know you cant do anything with a BA in Psychology and jobs for lawyers are going down.

    Pic related its Haunter!

Bio major, getting degree in the fall starting teacher certification in summer ending college fall 2011 with student teaching.

I have a 2.57 gpa because I have changed my major about 6 times only to arrive back to the one I originally had. Funny thing is they ask for a 2.5 min gpa for the teacher certification and say to have a 3.0 due to competition. Luckily they have no limit on the number of high school teachers that enter the program since 80% of the applicants are fucking club whores trying to be elementary teachers. Also science/math teacher = guarenteed acceptance.

GPA might mean a lot in certain circumstances but it doesn't mean SHIT when they're begging you to join rather than you begging them to accept you.

I lol at those who those who work forever to get into medical or PT school. Seriously, all the assays in my anatomy course are fucking losers setting their standards way to fucking high. I wish I could see the look on their face when they fail and have no backup plans.

Chemistry major here. Ideally, I want to go to law school and somehow use my expertise in science to make more money.

Or if law school fails I'll just continue on to do Chemistry research in grad school then get phD. Go into private industry or be a prof.

Industrial engineer here. I'm looking for a job in consulting or manufacturing. I tend to like the process improvement side more than the logistics and supply chain side. Or maybe quality.

Good idea. You know what would be awesome? If you totally depended on your husband for financial support, then wrote poetry about the oppressive, male-dominated society that keeps you down, and your deep-seated loathing and resentment of your husband's desire to control you.

No, dying is an overstatement. Its just that the kind of law that people associate with being a lawyer is becoming harder and harder to break into. New associates getting fired, firms becoming more selective at OCI, etc.. This is putting pressure on the mid and small law markets as well as there are now a lot of unemployed lawyers and new JDs looking to just do _something_.

Kinda double majoring, although my two choices are so different that I'm probably just going to spend extra time in school and not get bogged down in stress. Doing Merchandising & Fashion Design, and Aerospace Engineering. I just love both with such a passion that when posed with picking one or the other, I said fuck it, I'll do both.

I'm also learning Czech right now. My goal in life: Become the infinite.

I work a graveyard shift job for a tv station and maybe hang out with people twice a week if I'm lucky. All this ambition and intelligence will probably fade before I can use it because I abuse dissociatives and opiates.

    Computer Engineering

Jobs gona get our-sourced. Gona be unemployed, so I'm pretty much the same as a philosophy major except without the getting laid part.
    >> Anonymous 03/31/10(Wed)01:13:10 No.8149385
    Major: Biochem.

I have some really good plans cooked up for grad school and beyond, but competition is so stiff already that I'm not even going to hint at what I'm going to do.

I will say that after the fact I'll be making ~300k annually and have no student debt if all goes well. I plan to use that to buy myself a few backwoods properties for about 60k a piece, and get myself set up to be a hard-core survivalist.

I'll use the rest to produce jewgold via investments, ideally non-stock (real estate etc), so hopefully I can build up a big enough pile of jewgold that it will generate money for me by interest alone, and I can kick back. I'm gonna work out, grow my hair and grow my beard until I look like a viking, and try to master bow hunting and subsistence farming/gathering. I'm going to become a master woodsman, and shoot at niggers from my front porch while I eat the liver and bone marrow from an animal I killed myself on my own property.

You don't know what you're talking about. The only jobs getting outsourced are bullshit codemonkey positions. If you are not an utter failure you should have no problem landing a good job when you graduate. If you are worth a damn, you should be able to land an awesome job/career.
