38 KB "Christian militias" appearing in the news Anonymous 03/29/10(Mon)14:08:57 No.8123881
I figure these groups have started coming out of the woodwork mainly due to the passage of healthcare reform. Same shit happened when medicare was passed, although anti-Clinton fervor eventually gave us the Oklahoma city bombing.

    http://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory?id=10224652

"The FBI said Sunday that agents conducted weekend raids in Michigan, Indiana and Ohio and arrested at least three people, and a militia leader in Michigan said the target of at least one raid was a Christian militia group."

    http://www.chicagobreakingnews.com/2010/03/nw-indiana-man-charged-in-alleged-militia-plot.html

According to the indictment, the Hutaree's enemies include state and local law enforcement, who are deemed "foot soldiers" of the federal government, federal law enforcement agencies and employees, participants in the "New World Order," and anyone else who does not share in its beliefs.

"The organization's Web site, which defines the word Hutaree as "Christian warrior," begins its description of the group with these words: "As Christians we all are a part of the Souls of the Body of Christ, the one true church of Christ. Not any specific man made building or any man controlled organization. This is the belief of the Hutaree soldier, as should the belief of all followers in Christ be."

How many of these domestic terror cells exist? Do we have a reliable count?

those kinds of plans have been around forever. No government would actually try to implement them for precisely the reason futurebro mentions.
there's nothing in futurebr's posts that couldn't be extrapolated by looking at current trends. He has an interesting story and a smart way of covering his ass when he's wrong, but he isn't really from the future. normally I hate it when people feel the need to rush in and say "futurebro isn't real" because it's obvious and I think it's fun to pretend and play along with the story, but in this case I feel like I have to because you honestly seem to think he's really from the future.

If the object of the militia's is simply destruction (attacking people whose beliefs they don't agree with) then they arn't really terrorists. If the militias' goals are to bring about political change by committing violent actions against civilian or non-combat personell then you can call them terrorists, or I suppose freedom fighters depending on whether or not you agree with the attacks.

They're fools if they believe killing a few state troopers or attacking a government office will convince the public that their goals are just and good.

80 years... so you think things were better in 1930?

    Really?

I suggest you read some history.

    >Move to Somalia if you don't like the government!

I am getting sick of hearing this. It's like when Bush supporters told anti-war protesters to move to France. It makes no sense and is just all around retarded.

That aside, our government has some major problems. It runs on a system of bribery and regular people are being more and more disenfranchised from the political process. It used to be any asshole who felt like it could run for any office and have a good shot. Nowadays you need to be fabulously wealthy and have corporate backing. In other words, we live in a oligarchy.
If you think our government is to be trusted, or even respected, at this point there is something wrong with you.

I for one refuse to sell out to the whores who call themselves our representatives. It has fuck all to do with obama, the whole system IS broken.

I was citing it as a trend... I can't very well cite the future. ACTA has not happened yet and they are pushing for that. Sorry it's the best I can do since I'm not futureguy

I'd agree with you, except you have to drop this delusion that it was ever any different. If anything, it used to be worse.

One quick example, off the top of my head:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bonus_Army

Shit was different then, but not the way you might think.

then vote, campaign, debate, and convince people to change the system.

killing people and setting off bombs in cities is not going to help at all.

that's right, america and the western word in general has been getting freer and freer. The recent stuff having to do with the war on terror is a step in the wrong direction, but it's not an excuse to destroy our whole society.

Worked for the Obamafags that got college kids to vote, and for the Tea Party fags, that are getting old whites to vote. Just need to find a way to politically motivate large groups of people.

Not the person you responded to, but I agree.

I would not want a civil war like people are suggesting. I would much rather have a revolution against the corporations that own us.

you don't have to be president to start a change.

run for local office, become active in your local political party. start your own political party. If there are like minded people, you'll get donors.

    That doesn't make it right.

Up until the 1980's there was a trend in America of limiting corporate power. Then Reagen raped that trend up the ass and now we live in a glorified oligarchy. Business and the government have always been intertwined, but not nearly to the level they are now. Politics was never meant to be a career, for a long time in this country it was the complete opposite.
All of a sudden people make their living off of this. They use our government, our tax dollars, and our trust to make themselves and their rich friends money.

This shit is not going to lead anywhere good. It's already in a bad place.
