few issues of it but theres one major glaring one thats been fucking us
over for the last few years. basically how it went was if a resident
needed their drugs, medicare paid for it. done deal.
now whats
happening is they go on private plans. now lets say they need drug A.
there's also drug AA which is the same damn thing but a different brand.
now lets say they were on plan that covers A, B, and C. and then they
switch to a plan that covers AA, BB, and CC.
so normally we just
get their physician to write them a prescription for AA. does the same
damn thing, the insurance company pays for it, done deal.
the
problem is we've had a lot of jackasses that absolutely REFUSE to write
them a new prescription. but the residents still need their drugs so we
have to keep giving them drug A. and guess who pays for it? we do. it's a
loss, so we have to raise fees in other areas to cover for it.
the
whole thing is incredibly dumb, it worked fine before, and nobody
should have gone and fucked with it. |
