Typically I will stay and be in the left lane because I am going faster regardless of speed or law and will continually pass people, I stay aware of people in my rearview and will switch lanes if someone is approaching from behind.

For the people who are having trouble grasping this: all other road rules apply. Weaving, for example, is illegal. You are not to WEAVE in and out of traffic.

OP you are aware rules vary by state right? Here there is no such thing as the passing lane or the fast lane. All traffic is expected to not exceed posted speed limits, slower traffic supposed to keep right, passing is only to be done on the left, but the left hand lane isn't only for passing. Further you can be ticketed for going the speed limit or lower if weather conditions are bad and an officer determines the speed you were going was reckless under the circumstances.

I just stick to the right lane if I am going the speed limit because I don't want anyone to road rage because they believe (like some idiots in here) that the left lane is the "illegally going above the speed limit lane".
