ITT Post if you still live with your parents, and why.

I did until 27, for the sole reason of my comfort-zone. My friday nights consisted of h-games and locking my door. I felt like shit any time I went to the kitchen. I don't know what the hell I was thinking.

I'd do because it'd be an incredible waste of money not to. I don't have to pay any rent so I can store away $30k of my salary each year.

There's no reason to. So I can prove I'm "independent" and throw away money every month on bills?

Been trying to move out to Montreal for the past 5 months. Finally found some McGill students looking to sublet for the summer. Lease ends july 30th, but finding a place once actually living in the city should be infinitly easier. Spending my time filling in apllications, meeting people and all that. Should hopefully be going to Dawson college for a while, which is pretty much free, (Quebecer here). I have to pay for my own living costs, so I'll be kept busy. Not to mention, its fucking Montreal!

    23 years old.
My job pays pretty good so I would have no problems supporting myself financially should I choose to move out, but my parents are getting on and don't work as much as they used to. I chip in for half the rent + utilities so we can all live together in a nice townhouse, rather than live separately in two shitty apartments. A few weeks after we moved to our new townhouse, my mom commented that she'd never thought she'd be able to afford to live in such a nice place (she and my dad both grew up working on farms). I'd feel like a bit of an ass if I suddenly decided to up and leave. Work is also really close by, and I have no bf/close friends who'd want to share a flat anyway.

I've been taking different internships and full-time jobs in companies to get some experience while going to school at night. In May, I will graduate and have enough cash in the bank to have a safety net in case I lose my job. So I will move out.

Also, I live very close to NYC and a studio apartment above an Ecuadorian music store costs $800. Not that I have anything against Ecuadorian music, I just don't want to work 40 hours a week to come home to it.

If you check the Detroit area, you can find duplexes in good shape for around $15k in Hamtramck.

Live in one half, and rent the other half out if the economy recovers.

Plus the cost of living is so low there, you could go for years without needing a job while you start your own business.
