Numerous other "chans" have been created as spinoffs of 4chan, most of them better.

Every high school kid these days knows about 4chan and often spout the memes in real life like morons.

"The Game" is the most prominent of these memes and, if you hang around people under 18 for any period of time, you're bound to hear it.

Anime/manga have become fringe interests on 4chan, with anybody that likes them being declared a "weeaboo". Even your image posted would be enough for people to declare you a "weeaboo". These people forget that 4chan was based off of a Japanese website and founded as a place to discuss anime/manga, but whatever.

4chan's demographic has changed entirely. No longer are the majority of the users shut-ins or social outcasts. In fact, the majority of them are rather popular and have many friends whom they enjoy discussing 4chan with. 4chan is very similar to myspace and facebook in that people often post real life pictures of themselves on it.

The sexual outlook of 4chan has changed dramatically. Many people on 4chan are now not only not sexually attracted to things like pedophilia, zoophilia, necrophilia, etc. but are actually offended by them and will voice their opinions about it. A vastly stronger anti-pedophile and anti-incest sentiment exists on 4chan, and any vestiges of the old pro-incest, pro-pedophile culture on 4chan are mostly people joking, unaware that 4chan actually used to be mostly inhabited by sexual deviants who weren't just "joking".

4chan became mainstream, quality of entire site has degraded. /r9k/ has a filtering bot that blocks any post that is similar to any post in the past, but is generally quite lenient. No more "new" memes per say, since the userbase has changed for the worse, the quality and quantity of original content has dropped immensely. Spam is a very frequent occurrence on any board, exercise basic caution when clicking links.
