It went from being a decent show in the first 3 seasons to /b/ how it currently is in cartoon form.

    We like to hate things:

    - We hate Facebook
    - We hate Twilight
    - We hate xkcd (well /r9k/ loathes it)
    - We hate The Simpsons made this century
    - We hate Family Guy

What have I missed off? It was hilarious on /tv/ when it dawned on them that The Dark Knight was popular and they all began hating it.
    >> Anonymous 02/09/10(Tue)13:12:38 No.7437757
What? I thought most hated this show? Well they do on /co/ anyway.

To a guy that grew up watching the Simpsons at it's best, Family Guy is pretty dog shit. Definitely the weakest of the five animated shows we've all watched at some point.

No. Replace American Dad with King of the Hill.

Which I totally used to think was pretty average when I was growing up and I only watched it because it was a cartoon, but after going back and watching it from the start, I'm laughing my ass off way more than I do when watching Family Guy.

King of the Hill is AWFUL. Even worse than Family Guy. Much worse, actually. A truly terrible show.

I've also decided that Seth Macfarlane is trying to get cancelled through making his show as shitty as possible, so he doesn't get fucked on some kind of obscenity clause in his contract.

Seriously. Full country music songs in the middle of episodes? The Cleveland Show? Dude wants to spend his money on hookers and never do that stupid fucking peter griffon laugh EVER AGAIN.

Best non-animated comedy show: It's Always Sunny in PHILEDELPHIA/PHILLEDELPHIA/FILLIDILFIA HOWEVER THE FUCK YOU SPELL THIS SHIT.

Some stuf that's no longer being made that was great: Frasier, That 70's Show (some seasons. Once Foreman left the show got awful), Greg The Bunny, Black Adder, Jeeves and Wooster, Tripping the Rift

Yes they do, including atheism, which is all good. And the tom cruise episode? Genius. It's the Return of Chef episode that pissed me off. Their entire message for the entire god damned show is personal responsibility. YOU are responsible for the dumb shit you do. YOU PERSONALLY make choices and it's no one else's fault that YOU are too stupid to make good choices.

But then in the Return of Chef, at Chef's Funeral, Stan walks up and says "Fuck personal responsibility, it's not Isaac haye's fault he acted the way he did, it's scientology"

Going back on the one fucking message they've had from the start because they decided they don't like scientology. It's easily the worst topic for objectivity I've ever seen. Just pissed me off that they betrayed their own fucking point like that.

You take your comedy far too seriously. Why would you feel so slighted because Matt and Trey didn't 'stay true' to their supposed beliefs. The guys have contradicted themselves a ton of times throughout the years.

You don't give them respect for their 'message' you give them respect for managing to keep a show going for that long and still keeping it at least slightly funny.

Best crime drama is CSI. End of.

Personally, it's the combination of low-brow humor, pop culture references taking the place of actual jokes, and the enormous popularity it has.

It could be just a silly little meta-humor show, but when every fucking retard you meet loves it and claims it to be the best show on TV, you get a little sick of it.

Simpsons - Jesus you've butchered this show for an entire decade, just stop already

King of the Hill - Declined aswell but at least it had the good sense when to stop milking it

Futurama - Great up to season 4, new movies are reminisant of new simpsons, maybe not as retarded just yet

Family Guy - Words cannot explain why I feel this show needs to end

American dad - Its not awful, but it needs a lot of work

Cleveland Show - I will not dignify this with a response

South Park - Why have the last couple seasons been such horseshit?

Because it tries too hard to be random.
Watch the older eps, the jokes may not have been that funny but they certainly had more depth to them.

Frankly the entire show feels like the writers base their jokes on one of those random "I DO THAT TOO" groups on Facebook and an unhealthy dash of references to the 80's and 90's which is weird since most of the show's fans were most likely born in the mid 90's.
There's fucking Stewie whose apparent point is that he's a toddler yet he's an evil genius, my, how fucking hilarious, HE'S A CHILD BUT HE DOES NOT FIT THE STEREOTYPES OF A CHILD - of course, once that got old they just made him the butt of every gay joke on the show.
And Brian being Seth's retarded liberal soapbox, taking hits at Bush although he isn't even president anymore nor have we heard about him AT ALL - it's all just boring and unfunny.

Anyway, most enjoyable adult cartoons in my opinion are King of the Hill, Ren & Stimpy, Futurama and some very few chosen American Dad episodes, I hate giving Seth credit but some of them were good, now they're all about "HURR IM STAN, I'M A STUPID REPUBLICAN, THERE'S A CHARACTER FLAW IN ME, BY THE END OF THE EPISODE I WILL LEARN A LESSON AND CHANGE FOREVER"

Also someone mentioned best crime drama above, that would not be NCIS my good sir, but The Wire.
