watched an awesome documentary about the war in Afghanistan. They
interviewed British soldiers first, then Americans. Actually they
interviewed them in the middle of a firefight. It was really awesome
seeing the difference.
The Brits were completely fearless.
Bullets were whizzing by their heads and they'd say things like, "Tally
ho, chum, it appears that some Afghan dandy is taking pot-shots!" They
were just so calm and collected.
The Americans weren't. The
commander was some grizzled, gravel voiced hardened vet barking out
orders in a laminar flow of obscenities. It was much more tense, and you
could tell they really wanted to kill some Taliban that day.
Anyway,
not really related to OP, it just made me think of that. |
