if you do drop out find a way to transfer your credits or do correspondence courses so you can graduate. HS degree is really, really fucking handy later in life and a lot of places frown on GEDs.

One of my high school friends dropped out, and didn't go to college, and is now one of the most successful people I've known. Obviously he's the exception, not the rule. Extremely intelligent and resourceful, strong work ethic and he knew what he wanted to do. He dropped out not because he was lazy but because he was unsatisfied.

I dropped out once in both high school and college. I don't really recommend it if you care for relating to others and general socializing, since people have expectations you wouldn't be meeting.

education is basically about increasing your percentage at success. most people aren't so lucky that they can find a good job w/o a hs degree, but i know one guy who is doing pretty well (well... GED)

I had to drop out of high school for health reasons. I'm confident that no one will care much that I missed a year of classes unrelated to whatever job I'm going to get. It sucks that the GED has such a stigma. Almost no one gets it because they were too dumb to graduate high school. When I took the test, it was mostly immigrants in their 30s-40s.

I would answer this, but sadly, I am not a robot.

    OP here.
How much is the maximum that you make annual if you drop out, compared to someone who graduated high school.
Is it true some people have the worst of luck finding a job, even thou they have some college studies. then someone who can barely someone that can't ever pass high school?

so long as you have proof that you aren't a dumbass or have a legitimate reason for dropping out (other than because you were too dumb), any reasonable person wouldn't pay attention to it. the problem arises when you try to apply for a small time position in a big agency that doesn't have the time to thoroughly investigate all applicants.

and if you want a little encouragement - a while ago my Dad was trying to hire a secretary for his business. he got over 200 applicants. some of them were graduates from harvard and yale (history degrees and such). so even going to a good school doesn't guarantee you anything.

I dropped out of bending college. I am now a semi successful bending unit for a delivery company.

So you mean it doesn't matter about what school you went to but rather on how hard you work.

Has anyone seen someone that doesn't have a High school diploma make it to the top of the world?

How many of you would go back and change your work ethic in high school? and to what?
