02/04/10(Thu)00:08:54 No. 7372820 I
don't want to self diagnose myself over the Internet, but, I didn't
speak a word until I was 4 years old, and I was illiterate until I was
almost 13. Doctors were convinced there was something wrong with me mentally, autism, brain tumor, a whole laundry list of excuses. My mom didn't buy into any of it, never put me on medication, never treated me any differently from any other child. I
now have a college degree, working in a top secret military position,
have a number of good friends whom I trust, and have slept with 3 women
(not a huge accomplishment, but, meh, it's something). God only
knows what I might've turned out like if my mother didn't love me as
much as she did, and held me with such regard that she had the patience
to work through whatever developmental problems I was having rather
than giving me a pill and an excuse to act different. But, then again, not every mother is as great as mine. Thanks, Mommy :)
