Does it matter, it's still a 4.0. Employers won't even look at that grade.

I've taken science classes and aced them before. I actually find upper-division Analytic Philosophy classes much more difficult and enjoyable, as they require a degree of abstract thinking that science doesn't.

Anyway, take a symbolic logic class and then tell me how easy Philosophy is.

partially true. you won't get into grad studies with completely shit-ass grades, so, for some, GPA at undergrad graduation does matter
    >> Anonymous 12/14/11(Wed)16:43:36 No.735435
I think one of the most important things I learned after graduating is that the actual marks you got in classes don't actually mean anything, at least not in my experience. I was expecting every employer I applied to to ask me for an official transcript but not a single one did. They didn't even ask for my GPA. All they wanted to know was whether I passed, who I knew in the indusstry and what experience I had. And now that I'm in the industry I can see why it doesn't matter, because being able to memorize a text book and vomit it back up on a timed exam is nothing like the real world.

I don't hate math, but fuck all if I understand calc.

There's too many little equations that you have to remember and if you fuck up ONE step the entire thing's wrong.

    >Do product/quotient rule
    >First derivative (factor everything out correctly)
    >Second derivative
    >Find Crit points, min/max

Finding the limit of an equation was fucking crazy easy though.

You only need to worry about a high GPA if you're planning on going past a bachelors.

Otherwise you're better off working on the side instead of dedicating your life to school so you get some experience.
