    28 KB Life with Scooty Puff Junior. Anonymous 01/22/10(Fri)22:02:49 No.7233239
    Before I moved down here I'd (just barely) saved up enough to get a piece of shit beater, but at some point I realized I couldn't really afford to pay for insurance on top of gas. So I got an electric broped.

    Obviously a fagmobile but I didn't care, it cost less than a gas one and doesn't require a license or insurance to operate. I don't even pay for the electricity, seems like there's unprotected public outlets everywhere I go. On top of that electrics are basically zero maintinence since the motor has one moving part and it's brushless. Cost of operation: $0.

    Also, it turns out that federal law defines an electric bicycle as anything with two wheels, weighing less than 200lbs and a motor 750 watts or under. Which makes it legal to drive this thing on sidewalks if I wanted. Of course I don't, but I *do* take it on a nice wide bike path that goes from my apartment to all of the shops I need to get to. The thing is, that path is lined with "No motor vehicles" signs from before the electric bike laws passed (2002). So when I'm cruising down the path I get dirty looks from cyclists who think I'm breaking the law. A couple times I had muscular spandex-wearin hardcore cyclists stop and chimp out on me. I hand 'em the printout of the relevant law (H.R. 727) but they're never in a mood to argue since that kind of exercise puts you in an excitable, aggressive mood . One guy even called the cops and had me wait there for them to show up. So I did. Cop arrives, I hand him the printout and explain the situation. He tells the cyclist to stop giving me shit, and that I'm free to go. The look on the dude's face was almost worth the wasted hour.

    Wat do? Call the city and have the signs updated to reflect the new law? Tape flyers to the signs? This thing's too convenient to give up on, but I don't want to keep inadvertently trolling cyclists.

    Shit, just don't stop for faggy bikers.

    Sunglasses = no eye contact.
    Scoot on right by as they glare.

    Or bulk up until you're wicked jacked and grow a beard and scowl all the time.

    No one will fuck with you then.

    So basically you leech other peoples' electricity, drive on your own little road where you don't have to deal with cars, and make cyclists butthurt.

    Where do I get one of these.

    So chase 'em down. They're on bikes, it's not like they can outrun you.

    If I looked like that I'd probably go for a motorcycle instead. You don't see many huge buff dudes on bropeds.

    Yeah, definitely call the city's public works department to have the signs changed. If they can't do that, call your city council representative.
