Am I too old to be on /r9k/? I turned 22 last November. Are there other old balls on here? Why are you still here? You get dates by now, right? I do, so I should be out tanning or driving around with sunglasses on or something.
Why are you still on /r9k/, and do you feel you are missing out on adulthood?
    >> Anonymous 01/21/10(Thu)23:24:35 No.7219495
/r9k/ is mostly people of this age, if not older. It's mainly occupied with collegefags.

I'm 21, most of my friends who get on 4chan are the same age. People over 25 post here pretty frequently. I'd say the average age is (a little) higher here than /b/.

I'm 21 and I've been on 4chan for a very long time. It's basically ingrained into my brain by now. It's the beginning and end of the internet for me.

I work from my laptop on no particular schedule, so I get to spend a lot of time dicking around on the internet.
    >> Anonymous 01/21/10(Thu)23:29:14 No.7219568
I'm 22 and don't feel like I'm really old by /r9k/ standards. Wouldn't say I'm missing out on adulthood or anything either. As soon as I get a job I'm moving out, going to have as much of a life as anyone else.

I'm still on /r9k/ because it and /sp/ are the most enjoyable places on the internet for me. Contrary to popular belief, you don't need to have absolutely no life and spend 10 hours on /r9k/ to actually browse /r9k/.

And I get a few dates. Probably not as many as the average guy, but I still do alright. I try to help out the helpless around here from time to time on that.

Well then, what does an adult post like? I've been on websites with a much older userbase, like Fark, and they act a lot more childish than /b/. At least when you hear someone on 4chan say "LOL fukk dem haytee niggers", you can assure yourself that the other person is some trollsy 14 year old. On regular forums, you can click their profile and see that comments like that are coming from a married 46 year old with 3 kids. That shit is bad on one's faith in humanity, dog.

    How exactly would you know?

Age is a train that only goes one way, son. Sometimes a man likes to look back and see where he's been.
Sometimes a man likes to give a little advice to someone going through what he went through.
Sometimes a man likes to remember what it was like to be young. You forget that, you go dead inside.

I think some of you kids believe that your lives are so miserable than anyone who isn't a lonely failure would never want to talk to you. It's not true.

26 here. I've felt too old to be on 4chan for years now, but where else am I gonna go when I just feel like dicking around and talking shit on the internet anonymously? Anyway, I multitask -- no cool threads around and I'm back to facebook or somewhere else for a few minutes.

As for "missing out on adulthood", it's not like I waste all day on the internet anymore like I did during my early college hermitage. Just in the evenings on weeknights, weekend afternoons, etc.

It's weird when I see fucking 15 year olds here, though. Kids born in 1995 calling me a faggot? I lost my virginity when they were still shitting in the bathtub, and that's fucked up.

Mostly it's just nerves. Everybody tries to pretend they have no anxieties, and then that means that some poor people like you, who are just maybe an iota less confident, a little less good at reading people, *believe* that facade... and end up thinking you're the only one with doubts.

Best advice I can give you is take some risks. Everyone whose opinions you're worried about is just as worried as you.

33 with nearly 2yrs service to anon. Am educated, have enough money, have a 25yr old gf. We're approaching 8yrs anniversary. Not that either of us care for such formalities. We met at uni. I'm struggling with a physics phd thesis. She's a sound engineer and earns loads. She's very laidback about everything. Except her stripey knee length socks which she refuses to remove except when showering. She's even odder than I am but has more friends.

Started on /b/ but once you've lol'd at all the retrospective threads (which are actually funny), it's just re-runs and mind numbing shite. I still go there sometimes and to /x/ occasionally, especially if i'm looking for new horror to watch.

Meh, Adluthood is like being a teenager, but your back hurts.

I'm 22 you fucking faggot, and this thread made me feel bad.

Seriously though, I think /r9k/ belongs to the 20 somethings. We're the ones that suffer from the ronery and all that. If anything, 18 year olds are abnormal in thier youngness on this board.

I feel that I'm with my peers when I post here, not with normalfag highschool kids, like on /b/

Soo, -ARE there any people who consider themselves to be mature ITT?

Not adult mind you. You get that one for free with time.

The "Mewt: From modesty to animosity" was just closed. But not 404ed, as if to gloat at modpower.

This is the kind of thing that has forced me to leave other fourms/boards. Pointless closing down of discussion.

I've been here about 2 years but I'd leave in an instant if this continues. I'm already considering it.

    SAD EGOMODS.
