For starters, the cheapest brands possible. And then id get lasting stuff like rice. bags of potatoes arent that expensive either. Canned vegetables but I could fresh ones that are in seasons. theyll be cheaper.

Buy a few loaves of bread and put em in the freezer. When you take it out itll be good for a few days so id take out half a loaf every week or so. If it gets stale I can toast it.

For meat id get pork or chicken but not much. I certainly wouldnt be eating meat every day that month.

Hrm, that works out to 61.50 GBP Wonder how that compares to my normal diet.

Lunch - Bread, ham, coleslaw... about 20 GBP

Dinner - Microwave ready meals, pizza, pasta and sauce, and plenty of other stuff I can get for a quid each, so 30 GBP

I just drink water and blackcurrant, which isn't very expensive at all... I'm definitely under the price.

So $100 is supposed to be a challenge? Fat American fucks.

Nearly everyone in a first world country has been consuming milk since they were born.
Welcome to the 21st century, yo.

That's shit tier milk. Still awesome, but THIS, this is the real stuff. It's no homogenized, so you need to shake it before you drink. Tastes fantastic.

Nothing but tuna and oatmeal. If I can live on that for 10 years, I sure as hell can 30 days.
    >> Anonymous 01/17/10(Sun)11:29:24 No.7142820
mostly oats, cereals, and other plain grains. It's a lot for very little.

I would then spend the rest on fruits and veggies.

Willy's has it. The plastic container is great, but a bit more bothersome to dispose of. You should try it, it costs as much as Arla Ekologisk but tastes three times as good.

I spend about that much, and I'm really bored right now, so this is about what my overall monthly grocery bill looks like, including pricing and how much of the item I get per month for said price:

    $6.00 apples (around 12-14 fruits)
    $6.00 pita bread (2 packages)
    $6.00 hummus (2 packages)
    $12.00 morningstar burgers (16 patties)
    $6.00 bagels (12 pieces)
    $3.00 cheese (24 slices)
    $6.00 spinach (5-6 lbs)
    $6.00 goat cheese (2 packages)
$3.00 balsamic vinaigrette light (1 bottle)
    $6.00 soymilk light (2 cartons)
$6.00 firm light tofu (4 packages)
$9.00 wild rice (1 large bag)
    $6.00 frozen broccoli (2 bags)
    $6.00 88% cocoa dark chocolate (2 bars)
    $10.00 sugarfree redbull (8 cans)

That's about what I usually buy, sometimes I also pick up stuff like sundried tomatoes or pomegranates if they're on sale. Redbull's probably my biggest splurge and I probably shouldn't buy it, but whatever. I like it.

That's about 61 pounds. Considering I spend a tenner a week on food, which is sixteen dollars, I have $32 left over after thirty days if I kept to my budget.
    -Pasta
    -Tuna
    -Cheese
    -Rice
    -Frozen vegetables
    -Apples/oranges
    -Fruit juice
