I love reading these rants. They always make me think of my grandmother. She came from extreme poverty and worked from a young age. Her husband came back from war with severe PTSD and drug addiction and wound up committing suicide. Since then, she's lived alone, never been in another relationship, and been entirely self-sufficient. She's done an absolutely ridiculous amount to support her adult children as well as her grandchildren. She spent many years living in rural South America, founded clinics for alcoholism and mental illness, and more, despite nearly dying of cancer. And...she's a regular fucking person, she's not some mythical Mother Teresa or Princess Diana. I refuse to believe that there AREN'T other women out there like her. So yeah, I get a kick out of reading about how all women are this, all women are that, blah blah blah. I don't know many women intimately enough that I feel I can make a good judgment about their true character, but if there's someone like my grandmother in the pool of women I've gotten to know thus far, I'm not going to write off an entire sex based on the shit that some of them pull.
