I've had a rather depressing thought today as I placed all of my recyclables out on the curb this morning. It was a rather beautiful day, and quite unseasonably warm, which for some reason made me think about global warming. It then dawned upon me that this very act of recycling my waste is an effort made in vain, for it will not save the planet.

We're past the point of no return. No matter how much electricity we conserve, no matter how many hybrid automobiles we drive, and no matter how many nuclear plants we build, we have already sown the seeds of our destruction.

So, my friend, eat, drink, and be merry, for tomorrow we shall all die.

We're not at the breaking point yet. Maybe in another decade or so if we continue this trend, but not yet.

If we kill everyone on Earth, the process may be halted slightly.

wat? fuk u. earth has gone through other hot periods and high co2 in the atmosphere many times before and many creatures have died in with these changes. the "planet" don't give a shit, the animals dont give a shit. YOU and i may not be around to any future change, but nothing in this universe gives a shit. you are only projecting your own destruction when you talk about the planet. If you want to talk about that, then fine, we can talk about that. BUT DONT VERSE IT AS IF YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT SOMETHING HIGHER THAN YOURSELF, stoopid liberals.

I loved Wall-E! Greatest film I've ever seen. Changed my outlook on romance, philosophy, politics, and life in general.

We are all doomed to die, OP. Science may find the secret to immortality, but it probably won't do it in either of our lifetimes. We don't know for sure if the Earth's environment is doomed yet- there is always a way out.

Around a hundred years ago, we didn't have cars. Almost forty years after the car, we landed a human being on the moon. Computers were the size of buildings a few decades ago; now they can fit in your hand.

Don't count the human race out just yet, OP.

None of this will happen if you half-brained americans spend more than half of your resources on your military and developing new ways to kill brown people.
