That's not exactly a little tussle on the playground and very well could have ended up as a homicide.

The whole shitstorm is because they were charged with attempted second degree murder. CHARGED. How the law works is you bring a charge against someone and you always seek to bring the highest possible charge which will then inevitably be brought down during court proceedings. Had it been six white kids and a black kids that got beaten up the same charge would have been brought and in the same way it would have been reduced to battery. There's nothing wrong with the charge, and there is everything wrong with what they did to the kid. Oh and for the "as an adult" that was for one underage participant who had a prior criminal record and was believed to be the leader of the attacks. It was later withdrawn and he was charged as a juvenile.

What people should be getting their panties into a bunch about is that the jury is made up of all white people but instead you have people like you bawwwing over a non-issue.

Also, EVERYONE is hospitalised for three hours. That's just swing in, swing out of ER including paperwork. Unless you're hospitalised over a week, it's not even considered "serious bodily injury" which is the criteria for being charged with second degree murder.
