If you don't remember this logo you can get the fuck out.

    Discuss.
    >> Anonymous 08/06/09(Thu)14:26:53 No.4988010
...that was the logo when cartoon network was somewhat good.

    ...
    >> Anonymous 08/06/09(Thu)14:28:09 No.4988026
    wait, there's a new logo?
    >> Anonymous 08/06/09(Thu)14:28:25 No.4988028
now the C and the N are both white letters on black backgrounds They completely ditched the checker theme

Cartoon Network, you used to be cool. Now look at you. You've abreviated your name, you've been hanging out with the live action crowd, and you keep cancelling the good shows. I can't just sit by any longer and keep watching you do this to yourself.

... I'm seeing someone else. I'm watching shows on the internet and downloading torrents. They have your old stuff, from when you were still good. Maybe one day you'll realize your mistake and turn your life around, but until then, I just can't be with you anymore.

For over five years, yes, and it has sucked balls for at least as long. Kids are growing up now with the shittiest TV ever.

    This is the new one
Nickelodeon just changed theirs I thought for a moment but didn't get angry
That old logo represented the good shows that are long gone
    >> Anonymous 08/06/09(Thu)14:31:44 No.4988070
I don't know why it is people think 90s or 80s cartoons were any better than what's on now just because they grew up with it
    >> Anonymous 08/06/09(Thu)14:32:44 No.4988079
    >>4988070
It's because they were actually better. Pretty simple answer.
    >> Anonymous 08/06/09(Thu)14:34:58 No.4988105
I thought Billy and Mandy was the last good show for Cartoon Network.
and even then, just the first season. I remember watching the pilot on "Cartoons Cartoons" late at night years ago before it became a real show. Another pilot I remember watching involved some lemming girl that went on wild adventures, it was pretty amusing stuff.
Cartoons Cartoons had some real treasures with the pilots, but now it just shows the same new shit of Dexter's Lab and PowerPuff Girls.

Such a shame. Johnny Bravo will still be the best show to ever grace that channel however.

    >>4988079
no actually they really aren't. The 80s was a self absorbed generation and the fact that you think the angry beavers is much better than spongebob means you are almost certainly an underage b&

Ps I know those shows weren't on cartoon network I was speaking in general
    >> Anonymous 08/06/09(Thu)14:37:29 No.4988124
Man, I fucking miss the CN bumpers and station ID's.
Anyone remember that one "All Cartoons, All the Time" bumper?

    It was like,
If you tune in at 9:32 AM, what do you see? You'll get a cartoon! If you tune in at 3:45, what do yoi get? You get a cartoon!

    Etc.

Too bad they have live action shows now.

We're talking about Cartoon Network. Cartoon Network currently sucks.

You answered your own question: because they grew up with it. Rose colored glasses and all

And for the record I was born in '86, and I watched all the cartoons the rest of you guys did.
    >> Anonymous 08/06/09(Thu)14:39:42 No.4988152
You guys. YOU GUYS! It's just a network that broadcasts cartoons. Get the fuck over it. There's more to life than Dexter's Lab and Ed Edd and Eddie
    >> Anonymous 08/06/09(Thu)14:41:43 No.4988173
    >>4988128
yes I pointed out that I was speaking in general but ok let's try again
If you think I am Weasel was much better than Flapjack you are almost certainly underage. I'm not saying CN is any good atm (it isn't), just that the cartoons of 7 years ago weren't that great just because you grew up with them

My brother is 11, he dislikes most of the shows found on Cartoon Network and constantly watches Boomerang instead for shows like Tom and Jerry, Dexter, and Powerpuff Girls. Cartoons were better when we were younger.

I'll tell you a story. I learned from cartoon network. When it was still good. Shows like Dexter's Lab, Johnny Bravo, Cow and Chicken, they taught me English. I learned english mostly because of these cartoons, and the subtitles (I'm duch btw). When they started teaching english in my 5th year in primary school, I already knew everything they were talking about. I will always be thankful for cartoon network.

Two things hurt me. Firstly: during the daytime, more and more of these cartoons were being translated into dutch. Which means all the educational value was lost. Secondly: they started cranking out bad shows. When they finally stopped broadcasting here (I believe we can still watch it if we pay for that specific channel, which I don't think many people will do) it had gone so far down the drain I didn't even care anymore.

Old Cartoon Network will always have a special place in my mind.

Ah, the good old days... Back when Dragonball and Dragonball Z were still airing at 5:00, and then Billy and Mandy, Edd ed n eddy, Johnny Bravo, etc. came on at 7:00-10:00 on Fridays... God TV was so much better back then. Lonely nights weren't as depressing or frequent in those days. I miss sleepovers with awesome cartoons, Dragonball Z, Pokemon, and Super Smash Bros.

Well, at least I can find happiness in other places now. Having friends that like to do shit makes up for the lack of awesome TV and sleepovers.

    >>4988281
Samurai Jack was WAY before any of that new shit.
