I enlisted last month and have to wait until January to ship out to San Diego for basic.

The Corps is at capacity right now, so expect to be in the DEP and to wait a few months before seeing boot.

The PT at the office has been fun though. The first time I felt like I was going to die, but after that it's been awesome.

I chose the Legal Services MOS, by the way. 89 on the ASVAB.

Not OP, but I've done a lot of research. They will probably issue you a waiver for it, if you're enlisted you are just cannon fodder to them.

So, you're more likely to be let in if you're going pre college. However if you want to become a Lieutenant (Officer) with a college degree I'm not sure if they want you leading a platoon with a history of severe depression issues.

Police become cops usually because their dad/granddad were cops, or they love the job. Hunting bad guys and shooting them etc... Take up a trade, trade school is relatively cheap and if you live in a non-"right to work" state there are tons of good unions that'll keep you in steady employment with decent benefits/salary.

With a college degree you are considered "Tier-1" when you go to boot. With a perfect PFT of 300, the most you could graduate boot camp is as Lance Corporal.

However, without a perfect PFT you will just be a PFC, or E-2.
