Geeks are basically the same thing as neckbeards, only not so far gone.

More precisely, Nerds have a deep understanding of a subject. Geeks have a fascination with it. Each can have one without the other, or have/be both.

Nerds=deep understanding of one specific subject=aspies
Geeks=more diverse interests, there is a geek culture with certain music/clothes/games=more a culture

Geeks: More focused on niche culture (Video games, internet, anime, comics, etc)
