OP Here. I just don't buy it (assuming it's true). Part of the reason I don't know this shit if my father died when I was 17 (I'm 25 now, and don't have anyone to ask this stuff). My mother didn't and still doesn't have plans to even date or show interest in anyone else. She believes she found the one and the "death do us part" is bullshit.
