As soon as I see it start to work, I'll go along with it. However, If it creates dramatically greater prosperity for everyone, I don't think anyone would complain. So far I haven't seen that happen, though.

What law prevents such? I'm curious. But even if you can't donate extra cash to the gov't. You can still give it to a charity of your choice and help fund it. whether it's breast cancer research or to a Veteran fund. Gov't isn't the only organization that helps people.

I just don't want the money *I* earned to pay for the medical (or other) services of people who can't afford it without me having any say in the matter. I agree to pay taxes for stuff like roads, and public utilities, but hell if my hard-earned money is going to pay for medical services for shot-up "gangstas" or abortions for idiot kids or anything like that without me having anything to say about it.
