I'd like to hear about patriotic pride, of Americans, but more so of citizens of other countries.
So, nobody has any pride in their country? Strange. Again, i always see the argument that it is silly to have pride in something you can't control, as is the place you are born. But if you live a little life in said place, and find yourself with a decent existence, and further that existence had been defended and procured with the blood of previous generations of brave citizenry, pride makes sense.
There's a guy who lives across the street from me, about my age, lives with his family. I know he's a vet of the Iraq war from talking with other people in the neighborhood, not to mention the little blue star service flags his parents hang in the window when he was deployed. I see him all the time, standing in the driveway smoking cigarettes. I deliberately avoid talking to him, or even acknowledging his presence when we see each other, or if says hello. I like to think it annoys him just a little bit. IRL trolling if you will.
