So after being out of high school for two years, tomorrow I start community college.I'm scared shitless for some reason.I'm taking English 101 (college level) and Psychology. I go Monday, Wednesday and Friday. But for some reason, I'm scared. It's like when I moved to my current city 12 years ago and started a new school here, the first day of school was fucking terrifying. What do? Also worried that there are no girls that I woud fancy in my classes, and this year I'll be a 21 year old virgin. Pretty fucking sweet. What do/what expect?
Go to your orientation drunk.
http://lmgtfy.com/?q=what+should+i+expect+at+community+collegeenjoy the retards and the single moms OP. Good job with the anxiety at facing the bottom of the barrel education-wise.tfw no gf 21 yo kissless handholdless virgin wizard

Why do some people look down on every person that has to take the community college route?
>>3481536This is 4chan. Pathetic jerks need a way to feel better so they demean those who actually try to do something with their lives.
>>3481536>>3481575Is it really that looked down upon?I mean, fuck, I hope there are at least a few people in my age group there... fuck, man.
>>3481630In my experience students 30+ were pretty rare. You'll see fuck loads of high school grads and 20 somethings
>>3481630Dont worry i go to community college and its not like what everyone is saying. i have a lot of friends there and we do the same stuff as people at other colleges. i'm trying to start an anime club this semester with some of my friends but we need a teacher to sponsor us.
>>3481645That's good.Do people judge you there or is it not like high school?
>>3481630Some things about community college>Age groups are college freshmen, 20 somethings who dicked around for their early adult lives, and old people having mid-life crises. >No one gives a shit about you. There are no cliques and no one picks on anyone. You can make friends with the people in your classes.>For the most part, everyone is mentally mature. >Classes, especially yours, are insultingly easy. >Most people keep to themselves because everyone commutes to school from where their family lives; probably no one is going out of state to attend, so making friends will not just happen and will actually take effort.>There are more females attending tertiary education than males in this country, and from my personal experience, there will be plenty of girls to choose from. Especially in English and Psychology. Guy/girl ratio in those classes is probably higher on the girl end.I'm going back to cc for my third year next week.
>>3481744Thanks bro, that helped alot.Really, it did.
Not too familiar with the American system. Community college is the one for stupid people, right?
>>3481808No its for eveyone who is smart enough to realise what a sham college is. everyone going to college is getting massively in debt wihile im getting the same education without anyting other thana standford loan which i can pay back in a couple yearsalso more enterpeneurs went to cc then universities - so see how you like not having the best and brightst maing the really forward moving innovations
>>3481946Sorry, but everything about this post screams "retard in denial". I think I was right.
>>3481946>>3481946No offense or anything, but if you're going to go on about how good CC is and you're a student there, you should at least type more correctly. Most of what you say is true though.
>>3481808It can be or it doesn't have to be. Lots of people will go there for a couple years for general education classes, then transfer to a real university to finish. There are two levels below community college: trade schools/votechs and then "career schools" at the absolute bottom of the barrel. research uni > non-research uni > community college > trade school/votech > career schools
>>3481744So basically,>The show "Community" is 100% accurate.>>3481808Not necessarily, but that's where quite a number of stupid people end up.I highly recommend "In the Basement of the Ivory Tower" for more insight into the odd place that is community college.
>>3481808Depends on the state. In cali you can use it for general education and then transfer, thus saving 20k of worthless schooling. Some states don't accept such transfers, due to the lack of profit it brings into the state.
>>3482058>The show "Community" is 100% accurate. No, it's not even close to be 100% accurate. However, the creators obviously took a lot of the things that actually happen in community colleges and incorporated them into the show for realism. Also, many community colleges offer classes to high school students, and I took some in high school. It looks really good to have those on your transcript when applying to colleges, especially if you do well in the class.
