Except that's a shit analogy that is not only stupid you also did a bad job of communicating what you were saying. See, furry is some sick sick shit, but it's victimless, entirely unlike pedophilia. Also not all of the furries are into it entirely sexually. I for one have had a totally nonsexual interest in being an anthropomorphic canine since I was in the 4th grade. I think that's the case for public fursuiters. Personally not something I would do but I don't think there's really a sexual element at play to most who fursuit in public.

The house looks... lower socio economic to put it lightly... The appliances, food stacked on the walls, holes on the fathers knees, the patchy paint work in the corner.

This does not look like a house of means and its quite likely these people have seen their share of hard times.

Enter an unimpressed mother and a beaten and disappointed father.

In the midst of all this is a son. Standing there in front of the camera. In a suit that completely conceals the entirety of his being. Creepy huge anime eyes ever staring with no hint of genuine emotion.

A mask to hide his humanity.

    The parents blame themselves.

They realise that life hasn't been easy, but they wonder to themselves what went so wrong that their son sees the need to hide his true existence.

The wonder if they could have been better parents to help their son be comfortable and accepting of himself.

They wonder if it isn't too late to set things right in his mind.

But they know the damage is done.

Whatever they did, its been done and can't ever be right.

They blame themselves for what is standing in front of them.

Perhaps they are right. Perhaps they are wrong.

The problem is that this is what they believe. And nothing can make it right.

You still haven't made a point. First you were talking about exhibitionists, who do it for sexual gratification but aren't accepted. Now you're talking about nudists, who do it as a lifestyle and ARE accepted. If anything, you're proving that furries should be allowed to fursuit as a lifestyle.

The motivation goes something like this: I have an affinity for animals, I've always enjoyed them very much, and prefer their company slightly to the company of people. Also for inexplicable reasons I fantasized about being an anthropomorphic canine since grade school. Furthermore I have always felt like an outsider, and had a fair bit of social anxiety and self esteem issues throughout most of my life. Fursuiting puts me into a community where I feel I actually belong, these people have gone through many of the same trials as me, have similar interests, and are very welcoming. It also puts up a mask. I no longer have to fear messing up and being ridiculed and hated, I have assumed an identity apart from my day to day life. I can open up, be playful, act wacky, and just have a good time without worrying about the repercussions and what people will think of me so much.

Not correct. The difference between people who believe themselves to be wrongly gendered and 'otherkin' (which is such a stupid buzzword, by the by) is genetics.

A human is born from two humans procreating. Therefore, the offspring will always be human. Sometimes there are genetic defects that cause a person to not be the gender they mentally and/or physically, hence transgendered or 'wrongly gendered' people.

That is the point of difference. Regardless of what gender a person believes they should be, they are human, having come from two human parents (in a genetic sense; let's not get off-topic here). No child born from human parents could ever have a genetic defect that would cause them to be anything other than human. The belief that you should be some other creature other than human is just plain wrong on every single level.

    I don't know, bro.

Atavistic traits like tails, webbed hands, body-covering hair, and so on, can occur with some regularity. It's not beyond the bounds of reason that the brain could be subject to some atavistic alteration in development, and start to expect weird signals from the body.

We don't have the same kind of data on this that we do for transsexuals, so it's up in the air.

True, but none of these things stop you from being human. Sure, some of these atavistic traits are similar in ways to traits of other creatures, but that does not make a person who might have said traits anything other than human. By that argument, anything that has wings is a bird, which is of course not true at all.

That's not entirely true. People who are born intersex report similar experiences to those are born transsexual.

And that people who discover they are transsexual, and that transsexual people act a certain way, will start to identify with that is hardly a point against it's biological basis. That's what people do when they find some 'in-group', they pretend to be more like the others in it.

There are studies that show transsexuals brains develop along lines more typical of the other gender. It could be that being a transsexual is the same as being some type of intersex, just without such obvious physical signs.

My second point is not really on either of our sides, it's a a wash, I think. I just felt it needed pointing out since it could be a confounding element. People who identify with a group will consciously or subconsciously go along with them, take on their traits, but they won't usually stick with a group that is not palatable to their deeper sensibilities over the long term. I don't think someone who is merely 'trans-curious' would stick with it long enough to get something done about it, though I don't doubt cases could be found.

The study (singular) has no control group. It simply scanned men's brains, women's brains, mtf brains, and ftm brains and said, "YERP, DEYS WIT IDENTIFYD GENDRS BE SIMILR 2 PPLS WIT BORN GENDRS TRANSGENDR R 4 REALS."

The fact neuroplasticity and tabula rasa exist means said study can, at absolute best, say absolutely nothing.

    >It doesn't matter if it displays the "fetish" (it's also a lifestyle, btw), because there's nothing sexual or gross about wearing a fursuit. It's not like going outside in a BDSM thing, or with a shit-diaper.
No by your logic you should be ok with people walking around in BDSM stuff as long as they are covering up any junk you should be fine with that. Being a furry is not something that makes sense to come out about. Gay people (like me) come out because they want to have a relationship with another consensual adult. No one needs to know if you and whoever you are with want to dress like animals. If that's your thing than whatever, but you are being absolutely retarded if you think you need to come out to your parents about it (I mean go ahead if you want to be stupid). Wearing a fursuit in public and wanting to be taken seriously is fucking dumb and there is no reason you need to do that. So expect people to think you are dumb. It's not the same as being gay. It's not a lifestyle in the same way. It's something you are very into, but do you see people in BDSM walking other people on leashes everywhere and expecting to be taken seriously just because that get their rocks off. And before you try to make a comparison I have seen before wearing a fursuit everywhere is certainly not the same as trans. You moron.
Btw why your logic BDSM people should dress however they want and not cover up anything actually because "that's their lifestyle"
I don't care what people do and I don't even really judge you for it, just furrys need to stop these retarded comparisons between them and LGBT people.

I'm actually allergic to the stuff myself, but as long as you don't smoke it around me its fine. You may or may not be familiar with some of the people we're rooming with, but why don't you email me for now and we'll talk about it further there. And I'm pretty close to your age, I'm 21 so its not that odd. The others are pretty close to my age.

    Anyway, email is butts2damax@yahoo.com

Gaah, I want to go to this but I'm looking at transportation costs and I really don't know if I'll be able to come up with the cash for them. I live all the fucking way out in northern Utah and whether I drive or get plane tickets its going to be like $300. Keep me in mind, but just be aware it's really up in the air for me right now.
