OP here. It's exactly why I liked the show. The atmosphere. Every episode was childish but somehow it hid this insanely deeper meaning somewhere that you just felt.

I agree though, it did mostly become worse over time.

Courage talked the same amount throughout the series, it always was good. And some of them were just MEAN to him, like robo dog. Courage got shat on a lot, but at least Muriel and a some side characters cared about him.

There were two for the whole 1/2 hour. The first one was an origins story-- you actually see Courage's parents (who look exactly like him, except his dad has a hat and a mustache and his mom wears lipstick and a necklace). He basically relives the horror of losing his old family and nearly loses his new one, only to save the day in the end.

In the other half of the episode, there was this mysterious woman who had come to teach Courage "manners" and make him conform to all of these arbitrary, bullshit niceties. He's almost defeated, but in the end proves that the individual will always prevail.

Fuck I love this show.

The music in this episode always has a somber effect on me. I always related to it, and I share the man's last words when I make new friends :

" I hope I meet more people like you in my travels."

A Courage thread with no TOWER OF DR ZALOST comments is a crime. You should all feel ashamed. That show was by far the most epic in sounds and imagery.

One of the best cartoons I've ever had the pleasure of watching.

I was going to start naming off random villains that creeped me out, but I realized that almost ALL of the antagonists were creepy as fuck.

I used to LOVE Katz. (i think that's how they spelled it). I loved the creepy ass music that would start playing everytime he came on screen. Also that ship captain guy who popped up randomly in episodes....he wasn't a villain but there was something about him that gave me the creeps.
