What
Africa, and to a certain extent the Middle East (aside from wealthy
nations such as Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Iran) need is a new version of
the Marshall Plan.
A massive capital investment into improving
the infrastructure, health systems, power grids, and so on. It would
take billions, maybe trillions, but the kind of investment used in
Germany, France, and Japan after World War II would engender goodwill,
security and greater ability to trade for capital, goods, and
resources.
It may take a while, after all it took nearly 35
years for Japan to recover from the economic damage created by WWII.
Look at there economy now, it's a huge powerhouse in several fields.
In
addition to this, redrawing borders from areas that were established by
the french and English to legitimate social grouping would alleviate
some of the tension. National identities matching a cultural heritage
and ethnicity , like France for the French (this is one unique factor
of US patriotism, it's not tied to ethnicity).
Lastly, a removal
of restrictions on abortion, sexual education, and condom availability
would greatly reduce AIDS (in simpler terms, US Conservatives, and the
Catholic church should STFU) |
