Did anyone else not give a shit about what type of pokemon you were battling? Just make one pokemon be at like level 9000 and use only that one all the tie?

I could list all 151 in order and tell you what level they evolved at, etc.

I'm still into pokemon. Still playing the TCG, still writing fic for it, still catching the occasional episode of the animu. I've beat all the handheld games except Ranger, obtained 43 wins in the battle tower, and am eagerly awaiting Platinum's release.

Yes, yes... I was obsessed with the Pokemans with the best of them. Tons of cards (had some sweet decks, one unbeatable one until a shithead stole all the holos out of it), pretty much at least one copy of every game in the series (Blue, Yellow, Silver, Platinum, LeafGreen, and now Pearl... yes, I still play the vidya games) plus a bunch of the other games (Snap, Stadium, Puzzle League). Stuffed animals, toys, figures, fuck I even got the 6 gold-plated Burger King Pokeball-encased cards. I've still got all my cards and most of the toys in a drawer of collectibles from my childhood (other drawers contain things like G.I. Joe's, Star Wars figures and Alien + Predator figures).

Though I'd say the height of my Pokemon faggotry was when I got the "Official" Pokedex - handheld Tiger electronic toy - and would roleplay with my friends that we were real Pokemon trainers, catching imaginary Pokemon. I had a Tangela... because they were badass.

About as much as I am now. I'm really just a fan of the games. I actually made a profit off of the cards. I'd sell cards to kids in my neighborhood for jacked up priced, my parents thought I was selling drugs when they found 300$ in my sock drawer.

Now I've just been learning how to play competitively and am quite happy with the discovery of an entirely new level of play.

Nowadays I look back on it fondly, not as a 'tard. I kinda wanna play the old blue/red again. I'm trying to improve my 3d art skills and I might try modeling some of the old 150 as practice.

I'm going to share the story of my most epic fail with you, /r9k/.

When I was 10 I bought my first pack of trading cards. It had a fucking shiny Charizard in it. I was just getting into Pokemon at the time and I didn't know how significant this was.

A friend begged and pleaded with me for three days to trade with him. But he was such a stingy bastard he would only offer me fucking Diggletts and Ponytas for it. So of course I said no. But EVERYONE around me egged me on and told me to do it, including my own father, s I eventually accepted a Ponyta, and gave him his shiny Charizard.

The worst part about this was that I already HAD a Ponyta.

I was obsessed with it when I was a kid, then I grew out of it but came back to play netbattle a few years ago. Now I play on Shoddy (waiting for competitor) and I'm in the top 100 ladder... fuck yeah.

I was obsessed. All of my time on the net was spent in pokemon chat rooms. I dressed like ash every day, with pokeball keychains, six of them, clipped to my belt loops at all time. I carried my game boy color around with blue version in it, and pretended it was my pokedex. I ate pokemon cereal for breakfast every morning. I bought rice crispies just for the pokemon tops. I had a pokemon door knob hanger thing...Shit I still have my Ash Ketchum hat.

I had EVERY pokemon at level 100. I had 6 mews and 3 mewtwos.

Shit was SO cash. But yeah, if I had to deal with my 12 year old self I'd probably beat the shit out of myself for being such a weeaboo pokemon addict.

I had cards, and I had the 151 pokemon + MissingNo on Pokemon Yellow. I also had the stickers album 100% complete. I had toys, magazines, and most videogames. I made my first webpage (about pokemon obviously) when I was around 12 years old, with FrontPage and uploaded it to geocities, getting a bunch of visits.

And I am fucking proud of it.

I was below average, I occasionally saw the show, I bought some cards but traded for pokemon I thought were cuter, and I played and beat the video game, but I never caught them all or got one up to level 100 even. I had a bunch of action figures though, and maybe a plushie.

Right now I'm playing through Blue again because I find that I have less and less shit to do in class and they realise that they can't help for me to be bored, so they let me play my Game Boy.

I spent nothing on cards, everything was found or Christmas, my grandmother even found a lot of 100 at a church sale thing for a quarter.
Still have my copy of the GBC Card game, too. I have Y/B/R and Crystal with my lvl100 Mew and Blastoise in it too, though I'm really scared to boot it up, because I haven't in about a year at least, which means that the battery could've dried up ;_;
