step 1 have her apply for a credit card.
step 2 wait until you are offered another credit card through a competitor offering a balance transfer incentive.
step 3 buy car on first credit card, transfer the balance, never ever use the second card again (rate will spike) but pay it off promptly

You have just saved yourself a fuckton of money and hassles.

Ok thanks for the tip. But is she going to be able to get a card with a high enough limit without a job? Back when I first started out (before I had bad credit - which is due to student loans before anyone says anything), I could only get cards with limits of like $500.

well you said she has good credit, which implies an actual credit history that would be considered in an application. Homeaker is a valid profession to list providing that the income of the household is actually able to be tracked (as in you dont work for cash ect) they would look at your income, and apply it towards her credit.
