probably was so bad back then, it made it hilarious, I don't mind that
too much. I'm talking about the hype created before a game is released,
eg: Every fucking bus has some giant HALO crap stuck on it, with the
words "believe" or something underneath. Now, 80% of people looking at
that won't know what the hell is going on.

It's
because I really don't care about the "history" of gaming. It's trivial
to me, the beginnings of gaming were interesting, but the shit these
days is stupid and unimportant.
As a kid I grew made to
believe video games were a waste of time (which they are). All my
friends had the snes and I would constantly be over to play Super Mario
Bros. or something, (dig dug was particularly awesome). But I wasn't
allowed to have any consoles.
My dad introduced me to PC
gaming, Prince.exe, Wolf 3D, Operation Neptune and so on. I was starved
to begin with so I to me this stuff was like crack. Then StarCraft came
along, and pretty much raised me as a kid. After our computer dying, I
had nothing, so I won a PS2. (it was a amusing bet, I'll tell you
later). And tried getting into console gaming.
It fucking
sucked, every game I had was sub-par, except the GTA series. Vice City
was pretty much the only game I played for a 2 solid years. Then I
bought a PC, got a few games and played those, I finally played online
and after a short while I realised that multiplayer is filled with many
many faggots. TF2 and DoD is tolerable because they are games designed
with great amounts of finesse and creativity. They still entertain me. |
