Glad this is still alive... bumping in the hopes of an answer.

I hear people say that anonidate does work, or that OK Cupid is a good place, but in my situation I'm a bit doubtful... I mean, most people are going to be looking for something different, aren't they?

OKcupid is better. Nobody messaged me for a year on anonidate, while I managed to meet a girl a few hours after joing okcupid.

Go ahead, make an account. I made one about a year ago and have gotten replies from about every other girl I've messaged, that's about 5 out of 10. Once a girl messaged me first, but that was just for some stupid random chatter. I haven't had any success with hooking up with people through anonidate, but I enjoy exchanging messages and the potential. If you appear confident about yourself OP, I'm sure a lot of girls would be forgiving about those "tidbits" of yours. Unless you're completely fugly. In which case a girl might still find you cute in an awkward way, but that's cool too. Make an account there.

As for okcupid, I made an account there too but it's too much hassle for me to list all that information about myself. I don't like the thought of people looking at my profile and judging whether they want to be talking to me at all based on that, I prefer getting into an IM conversation based on simple ASL and *then* finding out the rest about them.

I made one. No responses from any of the people I tried. I'm not sure to what extent it's me not sounding interesting, and to what extent it is Anonidate being the sort of site that people sign up to and then forget about.
